At first glance, this is a phenomenally improved FFP. It’s much more in line with CV and I can finally see point redemption values of more than ₹1 on Air India. The elite tier benefits are also fully aligned with the CV tiers, except that they now apply to the entire Star Alliance member airlines, so the value back is incredible. Well done Air India!

Now if only the co-brand card strategy can also be made even to how it used to be for CV, this would probably become one of the best FFPs globally.

people who take axis vistara infinite recently would benefit more, directly become Maharaja Gold 🙂

Although I had closed my Vistara Infinite card they still renewed my CV Gold tier and gave me Maharaja gold as well. So they're being generous during the merger process, although I'm not getting close to as much value here as compared to Club Vistara in terms of points redemption.

I’m a platinum member and all the benefits have gone down with this merger if you check carefully… no or very limited value of loyal customers… Jet was far better, then vistara… but now we don’t have other options 😔

No actually not… I have been comparing all the benefits+see what others are saying too 😔

that was not possible as Axis stopped issuing Vistara infinite cards almost 3-4 months ago. Only those ppl who too Axis VI card before that will get Air India gold status till next year.

i dont think it works both ways.... my understanding is i can get points from my family members MC account, but they cant book tkts from my points/vouchers (like vistara nominees)

then how to book ticket for family members??
do we have to created account for every family members??
You’ll have to create accounts for all family members and then add them to your family pool.

If you are the family head, you can use your vouchers and points to book tickets for them from YOUR account only.

Maharaja club seems to be less attractive for those who are not using Star alliance gold benefit
1. Value of reward tickets is less. The flights that I was redeeming for 4000 points is now 6000 points
2. Adding nominee is not easy. We have to first create Maharaja Club account of individual and then email them the details. They will verify and create a family pool. Good part is we can decide how much of contributors points should be added to the family pool, like 50 percent, 75 percent etc. head of the family pool can then use these points for bookings, as far as I could understood by reading
But we can't add anyone to family pool easily now, earlier I used to add my friends and book tickets for them also when traveling together.

3. I got gold on the basis of Axis Vistara infinite, but retaing gold is really tough unless you are really frequent flyer. 9000 tier points exclusively on air india and total 30000 tier points or total 60 flights with 8 exclusively on airindia.
If Axis vistara or some other co brand card is launched that gives gold benefit then only will I be able to retain status after this expiry.

4. Till now I was transferring magnus m4b points to club vistara but now will have to rethink.

Anyway, time always keeps changing. Let us hope some new cobranded cards will be launched for benefits of Maharaja Club

Sorry for a rookie question, when they say ' 9000 tier points exclusively on Air India and total 30000 tier points or total 60 flights with 8 exclusively on Air India, what does 'total flights' include? Could you please help me understand that?

Not sure but this is what I inferred from my understanding
Here total flights seems to flights that are either code shared with Air India or flights of Star alliance members where you can earn maharaja points
So in total and in simple way

Earn atleast a fixed tier points or flights exclusively from air india
Earn rest of the tier points or flights from partner flights.
Hope this helps

My Club Vistara Gold Membership was due for expiry in the month of November 2024 only, but they transferred and extended to Maharaja Club GOLD by almost two years...

Okay I found out from personal experience.
1) Your Maharaja club membership should be more than 15 days old.
2) you need to book and pay for 2 separate FULL CASH revenue one way flights for yourself ONLY. (NOT ANY FAMILY MEMBER).
Two different PNR.

Once you receive the points from the second full cash REVENUE flight AFTER 3 WORKING DAYS, your existing Maharaja club points will be automatically activated to use for friends and family airtickets.

After receiving the points for your second full cash revenue flight please phone customer care to confirm that your points are activated for using to buy air tickets for friends and family

Do we really have to create account for minors as well whose tickets we are booking?
I am trying to book a ticket for me, spouse and kid, but can only put my flyer number under my name. For spouse and kid do we need to have separate account and then add to family pool?
