It wasn't shown upfront. Even the email I got after the transaction is without extra charges and gst. Is it possible to sue the payment gateway company? This is not the right way.

How was this not possible for me? I tried the idfc dc first and the IT etax portal was showing invalid card error.

I used hdfc pg. I don't think I can see the mcc now itself. Let us wait for the statement to be generated.

Not sure what's the RBI policy i.e., to show upfront or, have the liberty to inform about charges and bill later. In any case, doesn't harm to write to grievience and see what they have to say.

You use the IDFC Debit card through HDFC payment gateway . I initially tried to use Kotak Bank gateway and it didn't work Then I used HDFC gateway and payment was very smooth

I tried already and it said invalid card. Paid tax also already, can try next year only.

not sure why but I got 2.5%. I paid 20k for advance tax just to check & now my statement is generated & 500rs got deducted (cashback) from the outstanding
even if you subtract 188.8 (portal charges & GST ) the CB is 1.55%. what am I missing here?

in total I wanted to pay rs20k,
on payment page, transaction was for rs20,188.80 because of the portal fee GST and what not. so total rs20188.80 was deducted from CC
I havent made any other transaction with this CC, Today I got sms that I earned 500CB. the outstanding amount in according to my app is rs19,688.
now if you subtract 500 - 188.80 it is rs 311.2 which is ~1.55% of 20k

Ok, so you got cashback as part of some promo offer (because IDFC provides reward points). I thought you received 2.5% worth of reward points where IDFC Select provides only 0.5% worth of reward points. One time benefit for you, and it may not work next time. Is my understanding correct?
