Which Rupay card should I go for?

agentbond

TF Buzz
I have been looking for a good Rupay credit card. As my UPI spends are not much I don't want a card with annual fees as I am already paying annual fees for the SBI CB card. Usually all my spends are done by credit cards so I just want a Rupay Card to pay on places which don't accept credit cards or ask for extra amount to use credit card.

I have 3 options after looking the rewards.
1. Axis KIWI (but they have stopped issuing new cards now)
2. IndusInd Rupay Card
3. ICICI Coral Rupay Card

I already have ICICI Platinum, Axis Flipkart and SBI CB card, ICICI is giving Coral LTF but it will have shared limit and my current ICICI limit is 1L and I don't want it to be shared as it can affect the utilisation ratio and IndusInd I have read that don't give more than 1 card so everyone suggests to get a card like Legend and then get a rupay card, but currently I have no use of that credit card.

Should I apply directly for IndusInd rupay card?
Or is there any news about Axis KIWI Card when they again going to start issuing new cards

I am using these rupay cc

hdfc tata neu ( heavy user of BigBasket )
axis Indian oil ( lifetime free is the reason)
sbi bpcl ( closed)
icici coral rupay ( railway lounge )
idfc virtual rupay
au bank instapay ( 1 % back )

most used hdfc and idfc

@SSV gave you two best card
1 - kotak Myntra ( no one has it LTF before ban 3 year free offer ) best rewarding card above 2k

2- tata nei infinity/ plus - ltf are based on luck and negotiation
Tata app stopped giving ltf so its sole discretion of Hdfc now
It's best rewarding card above transaction of 34 rs

All other cards u can close it if you have these
I have hdfc regalia gold …will applying for hdfc Tata nice co branded card …affect adversely my chances of limit increase or card upgrade with hdfc??

Ok so I got three credit cards. Amazon Pay, ICICI Coral Rupay and Jupiter CSB Edge Credit cards.

I'm not happy with this ICICI Coral Rupay credit card as the rewards neither show up on the imobile nor can I see the redeem page and ICICI themselves can't seem to fix this issue. So I'm planning to surrender this card and get another Rupay card.

On top of my head there is Kiwi and this Yes Bank Ace. I tried applying for Kiwi but they said that they don't have any offers for me and I can't seem to get it so I deleted my Kiwi Account. Looks like this Yes Bank Ace from Kredit.Pe seems to be the only one.

Is the card good value? Its LTF at the moment so need some opinions here. If not, then what's the other options?

Hdfc pixel card can be a good option for you.

Yes bank ace card is good but you can't get the cashback in statement. You need to use the cb rewards to buy vouchers with discount. For example, if you purchase 500 rupees Amazon voucher, you can only use 20 to 30 rupees from cb rewards, and you need the pay the remaining 480 rupees from your bank account. If it's okay with you then go ahead with ace card

BOB Snapdeal, HDFC Tata Neu Plus/Infinity
According to me Kredit.Pe don't give statement CB and to use that you need to buy the Vouchers at the same price actually, they don't give any discount on vouchers only the discount amount will be deducted from your CB.

How did you got Jupiter?

Hi, According to me, don't go for tata neu the reward rate is shit and complicated, pretty much confined to tata eco system. You can close you ace card and then apply for kiwi after 3 months of closure.

Again, LTF cards get devalued over time, faster than the paid cards, so you can stick on to any card which gives 1-2% cashback, in present scenario Yesbank kiwi.

Pixel card is good too, but on local store UPI spends, it sometimes gives rewards and sometimes doesn't.

My final thoughts, keep any one RUPAY card and use it for your UPI spends. Keep a cashback card ( SBI Cashbaxk or HSBC live plus), both are paid. Although you pay, but you'll get 5-10x the amount you pay. Go for a good paid card with good rewards rather than LTF cards. Hope this helps.

I followed your advice and applied for the HDFC Pixel card. Lets see how it goes assuming that my application is approved.

How did you got Jupiter?

I found an ad on Jupiter Edge credit card and downloaded the Jupiter app. After the basic details like the PAN and KYC, I got the card. So far it seems ok but the customer support is bad. I may have to cancel the card if this Pixel card does better and if their customer support gets really bad.

Yeah that Tata one isn't compelling to me so I didn't opt for that. The reason why I'm hesitating to go for paid cards is because of how the cashback for them works. If I can't convert it to cash and use it to buy things, then paying an annual fee seems a bit..pointless. This recently I had an SBI simplysave FD card but the points I got didn't seem to do much because it only applies to vouchers that SBI offers.

I just want to make sure that I'm getting cards that meet my needs and don't screw up the cashback too much. I learnt it the hard way when I realised that Amazon Pay Credit card will credit the cashback as gift balance and I'm struggling to find out what I can do with that balance outside of anything amazon related.

Right now the Axis Airtel credit card is interesting to me but I'm again hesitating to go for it because I'm not sure how the cashback there works whether I can get the cashback or its stuck as points. Tried applying for SBI Cashback but they said that its internal policy problem and I'm trying to ask SBI about it. Still no response.

Airtel Axis is purely a CB card no points system
