Basically in case of SBI cashback card, the cashback is credited directly in 2-3 days of the statement generation. I presume same goes with Airtel axis and HSBC live plus (both in my bucket list for now).I followed your advice and applied for the HDFC Pixel card. Lets see how it goes assuming that my application is approved.
I found an ad on Jupiter Edge credit card and downloaded the Jupiter app. After the basic details like the PAN and KYC, I got the card. So far it seems ok but the customer support is bad. I may have to cancel the card if this Pixel card does better and if their customer support gets really bad.
Yeah that Tata one isn't compelling to me so I didn't opt for that. The reason why I'm hesitating to go for paid cards is because of how the cashback for them works. If I can't convert it to cash and use it to buy things, then paying an annual fee seems a bit..pointless. This recently I had an SBI simplysave FD card but the points I got didn't seem to do much because it only applies to vouchers that SBI offers.
I just want to make sure that I'm getting cards that meet my needs and don't screw up the cashback too much. I learnt it the hard way when I realised that Amazon Pay Credit card will credit the cashback as gift balance and I'm struggling to find out what I can do with that balance outside of anything amazon related.
Right now the Axis Airtel credit card is interesting to me but I'm again hesitating to go for it because I'm not sure how the cashback there works whether I can get the cashback or its stuck as points. Tried applying for SBI Cashback but they said that its internal policy problem and I'm trying to ask SBI about it. Still no response.
Ex: if you get a cashback of 250 rupees in a clander month, once the statement gets generated, in 2-3 days, the amount gets reflected in either your current statement or the next statement (in SBI cashback, it gets added on to the next statement afaik).
So, your next months bill, assuming is 5000, you only have to.pay 5000-250=750. No reward points b.s, just pure cashback.
If you're looking for spends on big basket, zomato and swiggy along with cashback on utilities, go.for airtel axis (HSBC live plus offers same benifits, but airtel axis already has these). On the other hand, if your grocery and dining spends are mostly offline, hsbc live plus is a great card to have.
So final thoughs, have the following cards
Sbi cashback: 5% cashback on all online spends(but you won't get to use this card for 10% cashback during sale discounts , you have to have any other sbi core card for this)
Airtel axis: utilities swiggy zomato big basket
Hsbc live plus: for offline grocery and dining.
I think.these cards will cover all the basic needs for annual spends of 2 lakh or.around that.
But if you are a traveller and prefer airmiles or Accor redemption, go for the below
Axis atlas
MRCC/ Plat travel
Hope this helps.
