Why People are moving to Regalia RuPay

Hi Guys, I see a lot of people moving from Visa to Rupay for HDFC regalia..
I would assume that Visa provides better features as compared to Rupay network like lounge access, reward points, smartbuy accelerated points, Priority pass etc.. or are the benefit same for hdfc regalia rupay also?
Also, regalia is on visa signature so we would get Rupay select? Which would make it almost equal in terms of lounge.. not sure about priority pass tho, smartbuy accelerated point system.

Or is it because of credit card bill payment through rupay credit card through BHIM upi?

Edit - I saw about Rupay tying up with JCB and discover for internation spends and lounge access.. so i guess thats makes it equivalent in terms of priority pass

it's not a upgrade, it's mere a network change from visa ---> rupay.

Yup. Me too got surprised. Because i received the acknowledgement mail and straight away received the dispatch mail through BLUE DART

Apply for your wife/sister/mother/daughter (if eligible) and then apply add-on card.

For your kind information. Rewards points, smart buy accelerated point system etc everything is provide by banks.

RuPay is just a card network same like Visa card.

Your lounge access bill is also paid by banks.

What Visa card give you ? Almost nothing or you can say only better acceptance, especially on international spend. That's it.

Note - currently, only difference is that Regalia Visa card give you Priority pass and RuPay Regalia give you International lounge access through Diners club International lounge access network.

If you ask why RuPay Regalia variant is not provide Priority pass ?

Simple answer is that - RuPay Regalia credit card is also Diners club/Discover global credit card. Card is owned by both card network.

Once RuPay will expanded to all International locations. You will see in future RuPay Regalia will also give you priority pass.

Also note - Your Priority Pass lounge access bill is also paid by HDFC Bank.

Last thing - All HDFC RuPay credit cards also give you Rewards points on UPI spend. Yes, you heard it right, you will get reward points on UPI spend and milestone benefit also count on UPI spend.

You can also pay any other banks credit card bill using your HDFC RuPay credit cards on Amazon via your HDFC RuPay credit cards link UPI and also get Rewards points.

So Cc bill payment thru rupay cc is closed now is it?
