Will removing an old CIBIL enquiry help improve my score?

context:

I see an incorrect credit card enquiry made by indusind in December.

I had sent them an email as soon as I realised it.
I had also sent a screenshot of the CIBIL report with relevant parts, and other information hidden.

they reverted saying that they want the ENTIRE cibil report and cannot proceed without it.

I let it go at that time as I thought my personal information was more valuable than 1 enquiry.

but just want to know if I should have followed up, and it's impact on my score given that 6 months have already passed.

from where we can get the exact information which bank requires for this removing of cibil enquiry ?
actually they just need the cibil control number which is displayed at the top of the report, and the date of the enquiry.
rest of the information is not required at all.

I know this because I had sent just this relevant information to another bank and they had removed it.

How many points are you expecting? What is your credit depth?

what does depth mean? credit score is just under 800, even if a few points are gained, that would be helpful.
plus, I think my recent credit cards are getting rejected (eg. Federal bank) maybe because of the high number of enquiries in the last 6 months (around 8). so removing 1 might help.

Depth means credit depth in cibil. For 1 or 2 points, you can try removing that enquiry.

In my opinion its not worth it. It might not improve score and will cost you a lot of effort.
Regarding cancellation, may check with relevant bank about the exact reason...for e.g. If you own Onecard from Federal bank, then other cards from the bank may not be processed. Just under 800 is a very good score.

This is not relevant to the discussion but there is not point in hiding your personal info from IndusInd. If they have made an enquiry, they already have all the info upto that date.

As per the formula discussed here and general info about CIBIL, enquiries older than 6 months don't contribute to credit score
