SBI Card Over Leveraged? Here's the Solution - Experiment

SBI cards offline application - applying by yourself & sending it to SBI cards office like HDFC Chennai method.

I recently emailed SBI card to issue me 2nd card & this was their reply:

We request you to visit our website www.sbicard.com. On the main page, please click on Cards for You and choose SBI Card of your choice, then click on Learn More. Post that click on Apply Now, it will take you to next page where you can provide the required personal information to apply for card.

(Or)

We would request you to download the application form from website
www.sbicard.com and complete the form in all respects and send the original form at the below mentioned address.

SBI Cards and Payments Services Pvt. Ltd,

P.O Box No-16, G.P.O

New Delhi-110001

After completion of necessary formalities, if these adhere as per the policy, we would be able to send your card.

Meaning SBI card can be applied offline by filling form & sending it via post.

So I went to SBI site, scrolled down then click on form center & found this form (
attached).

Whoever is unable to get SBI card, please try this method manually & update here.

I believe this can work because SBI will do all verification & stuff manually including CIBIL check. On the other hand, in online application, CIBIL thing is automated & rejects customer instantly citing internal policy (over leveraged).

What docs to send? I didn't see any mention of docs but you can attach income docs, address proof like aadhar or even C2C docs for better approval rate 😂 (I saw section of other card number option, so you can try).

P.s. I didn't read the whole form.

P.s. - This is an experimental post & doesn't guarantee 100% approval with trick.

If you copy this post, don't forget to give credit to OP (@D₹V).

because they are RuPay cards and they will split the limit from your existing card.
Uhm no, it has nothing to do with RuPay. SBI Elite is offered on Visa, SBI BPCL was also offered before that on Visa.

As for splitting the limit, they can very well split my 2.2L SimplyCLICK limit also to give SBI Cashback if they want to. I think this is just elusiveness and hypocrisy on their part - overleveraged is just an excuse. They are willing to give faaltu cards with faaltu reward rate pre-approved, I even got SimplySAVE last year and closed it, offering again. While SBI Cashback or SBI PhonePe being declined.

I spoke with PNO and asked him how to resolve it. He suggested 2 paths and that he will mentioned the same in email.
  1. Split limit on existing
  2. Send Income documents (2 months salary slips & 3 months of bank statement)
When I received the email, he only choose to write option #2.

Did send the documents then? Please update here,

Exactly same problem i have. How long u see these cards. Do they change card in preaproved with time.
SimplySAVE RuPay is constant, took it last year, closed it, merged limit back to SimplyCLICK, offered again after few months. BPCL was offered initially additionally, now changed to SBI Elite. Will try asking PNO if they can give SBI Cashback on split limit but have no hope.

No use i have already tried every possible work around. Forget about cashback they are not giving even phonepe.

What I don't understand is I am overleveraged ONLY for SBI Cashback or SBI PhonePe while they are readily offering me pre-approved SBI SimplySAVE or SBI Elite? How come I not overleveraged for those?
Well my SBI simplyclick application was rejected due to over leveraged issue. So i believe your understanding may not be fully correct.

Pre-approved in app via algorithm is an entirely different thing vs manually applying and algorithm approving/declining then application evaluation by their asinine team. That's the joke. Their pre-approved algorithm offers 4999+GST cards on split limit but they won't approve a lower priced card via manual application route

But this is absolutely a joke!! If they really feel that we are overleveraged, then they shouldn't offer any of their cards to us as that's their ideology or principles which they follow.

I see. So you mean due to your savings account, SBI shows you pre approved expensive cards and not the basic ones ? I read on reddit that even these pre approved cards were rejected by SBI due to over leveraged issue. Did you try applying them ?

I don't know what triggers it but it shows me for many months now. And yes I've taken SBI SimplySAVE and Prime in the past and closed due to useless rewards. Limit is instantly split, we get a slider to adjust the limit. After closing, limit merged back to SimplyCLICK. BPCL and Elite also offered but not interested.

Exactly what I am arguing with, with their Customer Service Blockhead. That I am being offered 4999+GST card pre-approved plus given a LE from 2.2L to 4L and being declined PhonePe Select Black even on a split limit because of overleveraged. They've raised a service request to issue on split limit but again declined due to overleveraged policy. I have written a second angry strongly worded email about discrimination and being unfair, and ignoring my CIBIL etc. Also the error in my card account since 2022, due to which whenever I apply from my main number, no application reference number ever gets generated for ANY SBI card and they claim at PNO/CSH level that I never actually applied for any SBI card. This no app reference no generated is why I couldn't get Cashback since 2022 when I wasn't overleveraged at all. Others have also written about this error on Reddit but to no avail, they are not interested in fixing it:

This area is always blank for me and no application ever reach SBI Cards as reference number itself is not generated:

They continue to say that my last application was in 2022 and want a timestamp somewhere I applied recently when actually I've tried for Cashback since 2022 after appropriate months cooldown innumerable number of times. Meanwhile I continue to get constant SMS after this that "Your SBI card application is incomplete. Click this link to complete it and win unmatched rewards." Applying via Sprint does not work from alternate no also. But PhonePe application from alternate no was successful so first time in 3 years a CIBIL enquiry happened and a reference no got generated. Got the LE to 4L few days after that. But still all good cards (Flipkart, Cashback, PhonePe, Paytm) denied due to overleveraged, even on split limit except the pre-approved ones nobody wants (SimplySAVE, Elite, Prime, BPCL basic).

Did you try submitting the payslips to reconsider the application due to overleverage issue? They asked me for payslips but after that I hear nothing from them

I am self-employed so they need stamped ITR. But then they said they have access to my Anumati, but still can't issue because of overleveraged 🤦🏻‍♂️ But even when I wasn't overleveraged, I wasn't able to apply due to that reference no. not generated error (which btw is still not fixed), they have no idea what to do about it. So at this point, even if I close a huge number of cards, applying via Sprint is impossible for any card. How can I even approach RBI ombudsman for this? I will need to take a video recording of the entire application process with a timestamp - dunno how to send a video to RBI ombudsman.

Before sales, i applied for simpliclick card.. as expected application rejected due to overleavage issue. Raised concern with pno, threaten them to raise issue with RBI ombudsman, after couple of days I received call and email with exact reason for the rejection and I was asked to share 2 months salary slips and 3 months bank statement if my income is above 15 lakhs. I have documents but I don't want to share with them for simpliciick card. After 4-5 months I will apply for CB card and follow this route.
