HSBC Enters the Game – Accelerated Rewards Travel Portal Now Live!

Just booked a flight to japan for 2 people at 1.28 lakhs and only got 18000 points and nothing for the rest 28000 rs spent.

I just feel premier is not worth much if hsbc travel one is so good. Most people would boom atleast 2 tickets to fly somewhere and also book hotels and both having same cap ,whenever you do travel the cap would be hit irrespective of higher rewards rate.

If they increase limit thresholds for being eleigble for premier account i would not shy away from downgrading to travel one and getting a low forex card from some other bank.

What if you have add on? Then also common 18K capping applies to both accounts or it’s individual capping?

U should get 21840. 18000 accelerated and 3840 base reward points. Also it's 6x not 7x. Monthly limit for maximum accelerated points is 120000(18000/15%) not 100000. Contact HSBC support through chat they should help you.

Tha balance 3840 points got credited late ,its 6x only but base reward rate is 3% 6x of that is 18x so capping for flights is 1 lakh and for hsbc premier and 112000 or something for travel one. Travel one provides way better value than premier considering anyone can get it,also the ultimate advantage of premier is just forex spends you get net 4.5 % return considerably higher than travel one.which can be mitigated with maurya to a certain extent plus you get extra limit for booking with it as well.

Interesting. So Travel One the montly limit should be calculated for 16% minus 4%? So can book till 1.5lakhs for max returns? i.e., 18000/(16/100-4/100)

Another doubt is the 50k accelerated points cap that docs mention. Is the 18k for specifically "Travel with Points" platform and outside of that we can still earn 50k-18k accelerated points from booking via OTA, direct etc for 4%?

I would like to share my experience for best price guarantee gimmick. I booked flights for 36.24k and found 35.1k price on agoda later on and sent an email with proof. They said to call in. I called in and found the best price guarantee is excluding the convenience fee. Since 1200 was the convenience fee they charged for 2 people return tickets (300 per person per ticket), there is no refund. I read in reddit that a guy got a refund for hotel booking but for flights they exclude convenience fee. I think the flights cost is around 8-10% higher in hsbc compared to other portals. When I booked, the price obviously increased a bit and hence agoda showed me about 4% difference only but if i had book directly from agoda, the price would have been 8-10% less.

I just wanted to check their best price guarantee feature and honestly it is a gimmick at least for flights.

In that sense, do you suggest people to go for travelone card. Also, free cancellation is good for flights. Also, how is the hotel prices in comparison to other platforms. How is scapia card in comparison to travelone ? Travelone also gives good conversion for Accor hotel points.

I did a flight booking for 117000 using Travel One on their Travel with points portal. And looks like I got points in 3 line items

Base 1 - 2340 (2% base RPs) (2/100*11700)
Base 2 - 2340 (additional 2% for travel)
Accelerated -12000

Shouldn't the accelerated have been 16%-4%? 12%=14040? Where did the 2040 points go? I don't see any mention of 12000 point cap for travel one.
