I would like to share my experience for best price guarantee gimmick. I booked flights for 36.24k and found 35.1k price on agoda later on and sent an email with proof. They said to call in. I called in and found the best price guarantee is excluding the convenience fee. Since 1200 was the convenience fee they charged for 2 people return tickets (300 per person per ticket), there is no refund. I read in reddit that a guy got a refund for hotel booking but for flights they exclude convenience fee. I think the flights cost is around 8-10% higher in hsbc compared to other portals. When I booked, the price obviously increased a bit and hence agoda showed me about 4% difference only but if i had book directly from agoda, the price would have been 8-10% less.

I just wanted to check their best price guarantee feature and honestly it is a gimmick at least for flights.

I got automatic credit of 1500 travel points as Price Drop Protection for this booking now.

I checked the prices and in total the price for the return flights is actually increased now for about 10k. But the one-way flight is slightly reduced by 1-2k so I think their system checks prices separately which is good.

I also see 544 travel points for earlier bookings.

I have opened the Premier account. Now I have 90 days to figure if I want to move my salary account or move my home loan or my mutual funds. Within 90 days will have to meet one of the criteria.

Nothing. I meet the salary criteria, so they opened the account. As per the terms, I have 90 days to comply with one of the premier requirements.
