DCB How to get HDFC Diners Club Credit Card Life Time Free

Hello Everyone,

HDFC Bank runs a special Diners Institute Program for the people who have either completed their education from the list of institutes mentioned below link or are part of the Club mentioned in the below link:

List of Eligible Institute & Club Link: Link

Under this program, you are eligible for a Diners Club Credit Card on Life Time Free basis. The card variant depends upon your Salary and Card Limit. (As updated by the Bank person the eligibility has been relaxed a little on 21-Dec-2022)

1. For the Diners Club Black variant you need to have a Monthly salary of more than 1.45L

2. If you do not meet the above criteria and still your Institute is part of the above list you will be given the Diners Club Privilege variant

3. If you are a final year student studying in any of the above-mentioned colleges, the Card against your institute name will be provided to you as Life Time Free

The process to Apply:

Long Process:

1. mail to priorityredressal.creditcards@hdfcbank.com along with the name of the Institute or Club

2. They will revert back and ask you to apply on the following link: https://v.hdfcbank.com/htdocs/common/dinersblackinstitute/index.html after which in a couple of days someone from HDFC Bank will reach out to you

3. You need to submit your Degree Certificat / Club Membership Proof, Last three-month Salary Slip, and Bank account statement in which your Salary was credited

19-Jan-2023: The list of eligible institutes and Cards have been updated on 19-Jan-2023 which were in effect from 21-Dec-2022 and eligibility criteria has been modified.

As per the list on page 1. Bits Pilani students are eligible for moneyback + only. Although I would suggest checking with the Hdfc contact as well.

Thanks will check again. Yes the list mentions that card but it also shows heading as final year student. Also have some college friends who got DCB under this alumni program, but could have changed the criteria now.

Yup no worries! I think they updated the list a few months ago. Hope you get the DCB! For an LTF card it’s worth it

Thank you ! They kept saying account is ineligible but never said anything about institute eligibility.
Have sent mail to PNO yesterday requesting for the same or at least provide specific reason if possible. Hope they accept it.
Also one query - any reference to the original list ? Thanks

Hello Team, Just saw my HDFC page with credit card details and it shows me an upgrade offer to V Infinia Metal with annual fees of 12,500+GST, is there any way I can get it as LTF/FYF?
Holding an Imperia account with HDFC since past year and currently using Regalia First.
And If not possible to get it LTF/FYF, then is it worth spending the annual charges on Infinia(do we get same amount of points as the annual fee and if yes can we use them as 1:1 for Apple and other stores under Smartbuy and for booking flight at 1:1 ratio?

Was using Magnus from past 5 months but now its gone and got an upgrade offer just today, so confused....TIA

Most likely it will be FYF, that's how its issued. LTF cases for Infinia Metal are pretty rare.

He later told that the document have been sent to Chennai.

You will receive an email from HDFC Bank with Case ID, once they receive the documents.

You should have directly emailed to Grievance.Redressalcc@hdfcbank.com requesting for DCB LTF credit card under Alumni offer. They ask for degree certificate and salary slips. Post which your card will be successfully upgraded to DCB LTF within 1 week. No hassle of any physical documents + No agent involvement.

So your case is different as you are applying for a new HDFC credit card and not upgrading to DCB LTF under Alumni offer. There is no guarantee that your first credit card from HDFC bank will be DCB LTF even under Alumni offer. HDFC is notorious to change the card before final approval stage.

Even if you do not get your preferred credit card, you can email to Grievance.Redressalcc@hdfcbank.com with company name, degree certificate along-with salary slips and your credit card will be upgraded to DCB LTF.

Patience is the key here... Wait for 7-14 days. If you don't receive any email from HDFC, shoot an email to Grievance.Redressalcc@hdfcbank.com, stating the facts, they will take over from there.

What is the credit limit of your Regalia First?

So your case is different as you are applying for a new HDFC credit card and not upgrading to DCB LTF under Alumni offer. There is no guarantee that your first credit card from HDFC bank will be DCB LTF even under Alumni offer. HDFC is notorious to change the card before final approval stage.

I also had the same case, but I got DCB LTF as my first HDFC credit card under Alumni offer. Yes HDFC changes the card before approval, but I don't think it applies to Alumni program. If eligibility criteria is met, then they are giving card as mentioned.

No bank will change the card at final stage if eligibility criteria is met. Approval depends on person to person.
