Lekin January aane toh do pehele

Kya December end tak koi naya bomb 💣 fat jaye

Fir pura thread edit krna padega

You can apply these credit cards in December 2023 also. Is December month unlucky for card approval? 🤔

Right, january 2024 might seem a bit far off, but I'm keen on doing some more in-depth research to ensure my findings are accurate.
For instance, I initially shortlisted Amex cards for travel benefits, but I've since realized they might not be the best fit, especially for those of us who aren't particularly interested in staying at high-end locations.

I had once asked a credit card agent regarding the best month for maximum chances of credit card approval. He said around Diwali, before New Year and around Financial year ending (Feb-March).

Also add Axis airtel in utility section and creat food sectio.

May I ask the reasoning behind putting RBL Play ahead of ED Card?
ED gives 2 free tickets without any spend criteria but RBL has 5k spend condition and newly devalued to exclude most high spend categories.
ED allows you to book a single ticket while RBL Play doesn't.
Is it because ED is a paid card (FYF sometimes, LTF rarely) and RBL Play is easily LTF for BMS superstars?

But overall a very useful thread. Thank you and Kudos!

Yes, you've made a valid point and there's definitely room for improvement in the list. These rankings aren't final, they are based on my findings from various threads and posts. I appreciate your insight and will continue to update the list based on feedback like yours.

HDFC Infinia has this T&C
  • Reward points will not be accrued for rental pay transactions, property management services like rent, maintenance, packers &movers, etc and government transactions
So I guess infinia should be removed from Rent, Taxes. Additionally infinia charges 1% from the 2nd rental txn of the month.

Also with Global Value program turned on (1%), infinia with it's low forex charges (-2%) is probably quite good for international txns after it's rewards (3.3%) are considered.

Online Spends should consider SBI Cashback card (5%).

Thank you for your valuable insights. These rankings are not final, as they are compiled from various online posts by others. I will continue to update them as I receive more feedback. Thanks again for your contribution.

Bro you now changed infinia to DCB
But sadly similar to infinia diners black too don’t give RP for rent / government payments . I believe all hdfc ccs does this same thing.
Yes, as I mentioned, I'll continue to update this list based on feedback and additional research. I've read that the Diners Black card (also Millennia/Regalia) offers some benefits through the SmartPay portal. I would greatly appreciate more feedback or insights on this.

Very good initiative and excellent list to start with... Well done for the efforts...
This list keeps on fine tuned after the respective Card/category experts' views were expressed here.. One person can not have expertise in all cards/categories..
Thanks for taking the first step and now we as a group need to add more value to this thread with our own relevant experiences/ views , if any..

Using hdfc smartbuy portal hdfc cards get extra rewards. One can book tickets or buy gift vouchers and get good reward points or cashback.

Eg. if you buy flipkart gv from smartbuy gyftr or apple products from smartbuy imagine store using infinia the returns can be 16.66%, using DCB 9.9% and with most other cc / debit cards 5%. Booking hotels via Cleartrip / MMT can double the discount currently, means 33% returns with infinia.

Point to note is one can buy Amazon Gv and pay off their utility bills. (Do remember buying AGV has 2.5% processing fees on smartbuy gyftr portal.) Still ~13% discount on utilities via Infinia is too good to ignore.
