ICICI Credit Card Shared Credit Limit Confusion

Hi guys, I have Amazon pay and Coral rupay ICICI credit cards with a shared limit of 50k. This month I got bill generated of 21k in apay cc and 26k in coral. I paid apay cc bill and when I was trying to do a transaction of 2k through rupay, it's getting declined and saying that the available limit is 1500 only. So can anyone explain the reason why it's showing only 1500 even though I paid bill 3days back and it's even getting reflected in apay cc with dues as 0 as well.

I definitley know that , it will allow to prepay and the available CL gets adjusted, but not sure about spending in excess of granted CL within the statement period.. I haven't checked this recently because my limit it 7.7L..
Only lower limit customers can validate.
Spending more than the granted credit limit within a statement period is usually allowed by all banks but not suggested, as there's a high chance of the bank flagging your account as commercial spends.

Isn't there a recent RBI directive that precludes any payment in excess of the billed amount? IIRC, banks are supposed to refund any such excess amount to the source. I think I should look up any RBI notification in this regard to make sure (although I am also in the same situation as you are, i.e. not likely to need to artificially extend the CL this way myself).

Actually it’s not shared limit card u got 2nd one click on that card go to limit section check there how much limit they gave u there
They r giving separate limit for separate card
But in over all it’s shared limit it’s like the 2nd cc u got it’s will have limit less then 20k I had same issue my apc cc was 260k but my coral was 60k later I called them to do coral limit same so they did same 260k I hope u understood
Once you get more than one icici credit card, will we get limit increase offer ? If I understand correctly, the limit is shared among all ICICI Credit Cards (same like axis bank but not like SBI where the limit is separate)

Well, dear SSV sir, you can try to purchase everything from a store in shopping mall say of 8 lakh or even a car. And then the icici people will call before they verify such a big payment and you will have your answer, lol. 😂

Btw, it reminded me of Shaq (a huge basketball player) who did the same in a store and same thing happened with him. Don't know if he was making that up or not.

Also, thanks for all the value you keep providing in the community🙂

No. 260K in total. e.g If he spends 120K in one card, in the other he can spend upto 140K, if the entire 260K is spent one any of the cards then in the other 0 can be spent !
I got Apay first 60K limit. Then got Coral pre-approved. I bought 10K of stuff on Apay and 5K on Coral. Now in the iMobile app available credit on Apay is 50K and coral is 55K.

So is my total limit 1.2L or 60K?
What's ICICI Banks total credit exposure to me?

Your total usable limit is 60k. Imobile and internet banking will show individual limits for each card, use that information to only track individual usage per card. You'll receive actual limit when you receive transaction email, there it's clearly written about shared limit.

As you have spent 15k from 60k so total usable limit is 45k for you now.
