Is MB 30% Bonus offer is back ??

Hello!

Today I was searching on how to transfer the points from MR to MB account and on the instruction page I saw this that they are offering the 30% bonus credit as they do every year.
Please check the attached image. I have to make a booking for the next week and was short on some points, but if this bonus is credited then I'll be able to complete the booking using the points only!

it's from Amex Canada not Amex India . Plz look carefully before creating a thread !

Just when u saw conversion rate is 1:1.2 , you could have easily understood that this isn't India !

As confirmed by @AlphaCAT it's the Amex Canada page.

Don't know how this page opened. Although I transferred points to MB A/c on 1:1 conversion rate from the rewards section.

Only if Taj vouchers were redeemable at 1:1 MR points value, that would make AmEx so much cooler.

Till last year 60% properties were accepting breakfast on request with MB Gold or Platinum, but with MB Gold and Platinum tiers increased with Platinum Charge card and Marriott are not offering free breakfast.

I thought the breakfast or the other amenities charges can be paid using the MB points 🥲🥲

Is any other hotel group other than MB will allows stays+ food + other facilities (all in one) using the points ?? 😁

Marriott offers complimentary breakfast to Platinum Elite and above members. So if you're holding the same status, it will be complimentary irrespective of what rate you book with.

Exactly. If you are not an elite/platinum MB member, the MB points are not as good as Taj Vouchers even at 1:0.5 conversion. I moved points to MB last year in their 30% bonus points scheme and then realized this. Also how much Marriott hotels charge for breakfast is not communicated anywhere until you call the hotel.

For someone without any type of MB membership, the points are not worth the conversion.

You sure about this? I am genuinely asking as I have to transfer my 150K Mr points as I will be downgrading my Plat charge card. Even MB gold does not offer breakfast. So I am now confused if I should continue waiting for MB offer or transfer to Krisflyer or get Taj vouchers.

Edit - Also I am not getting even 1 Rs value for MB points when trying to book properties even in Vietnam. India is much worse.

The value of MB points have gone down the drain. In case of Taj hotels, we know upfront that its 50p for every 1 Amex point. You dont even get a decent hotel (Courtyard for eg) under 35K MB points at most places and then breakfast is not included which further impacts the conversion.

Can you elaborate on the Taj voucher thing ?

Also one 10k voucher I am about to get as it's my first year of plat travel so to get that complimentary voucher do I need to spend 4 L ??

You can buy Taj vouchers using the points. I have attached the screenshot which indicates you get 50p per Amex point. The vouchers can be used for stay and food bills as well. The only limitation is, you have to use it in its entirety. I feel Taj offers way better value than MB if you are not premium MB member.

You would get 10K Taj voucher when you complete 4L spend in a CC billing year. Also, you earn 48000 max Amex points for 4L spend which equals 24K Taj vouchers. For 4L spend, you get total 34K (24K + 10K) Taj vouchers which is 8.5% if you are into travelling.

Technically, both are useless. Taj vouchers via Amex cannot be used on discounted rates, so you loose money there. And for Marriott hotels there is no breakfast
