Hello!

Today I was searching on how to transfer the points from MR to MB account and on the instruction page I saw this that they are offering the 30% bonus credit as they do every year.
Please check the attached image. I have to make a booking for the next week and was short on some points, but if this bonus is credited then I'll be able to complete the booking using the points only!

Technically, both are useless. Taj vouchers via Amex cannot be used on discounted rates, so you loose money there. And for Marriott hotels there is no breakfast
Depends from property to property . For e.x - I used the points in Marriott Courtyard , Gurgaon and the breakfast , High tea both were complimentary

Yes you will get it in city hotels.. I also got in courtyard Madurai. But usually not available in resort properties or properties outside India

Do you have MB membership of any kind? How did you negotiate on the breakfast. I always prefer B&B rooms since then you can plan your travel and day activities accordingly.

The biggest issue with MB points is, they cover only stay and not breakfast. Taj vouchers on the other hand cover everything.
So, when I booked a night at Courtyard by Marriott Kochi at the end of July, it cost me 11k points, the Rupee rate was around 9500, and they included the breakfast at the front desk for free

The value of MB points have gone down the drain. In case of Taj hotels, we know upfront that its 50p for every 1 Amex point. You dont even get a decent hotel (Courtyard for eg) under 35K MB points at most places and then breakfast is not included which further impacts the conversion.
Not completely true. It depends on the city and the date of travel of course.
I paid just 7k for 1 night, 7.5k for the next night at Le Meridien Kochi, and 11k for courtyard by Marriott at Kochi airport. Screenshots show u when I booked and when I stayed

Did they cover breakfast for the next day? You have to be really lucky to get such low fares for points.

I usually skip breakfast to get some extra sleep, but when I do hit the breakfast buffet once in a while, I use Zomato/EazyDiner (since most Marriott restaurants are on there) and get a 25-30% discount. The buffet's usually around Rs 1,000, but with the discount, it comes down to Rs 750, which is totally worth it. Or, if you have Club Marriott membership (it’s property specific) you can get flat 25% off at all Marriott restaurants.

You can buy Taj vouchers using the points. I have attached the screenshot which indicates you get 50p per Amex point. The vouchers can be used for stay and food bills as well. The only limitation is, you have to use it in its entirety. I feel Taj offers way better value than MB if you are not premium MB member.

You would get 10K Taj voucher when you complete 4L spend in a CC billing year. Also, you earn 48000 max Amex points for 4L spend which equals 24K Taj vouchers. For 4L spend, you get total 34K (24K + 10K) Taj vouchers which is 8.5% if you are into travelling.

Got it... 🎉

So even after 30% bonus the MB doesn't go well ??

I take 1000/- is for per person. so for a family traveler (3 pax), its 3000/- = 12000 Amex points in rupees terms (0.25p per AMEX point). I did not know about Zomato/EasyDiner way of paying for the buffet, good to know you can save good 20-30%.

When i stayed at ITC Kakatiya HYD for 2 days earlier this year with Marriot points, breakfast was not included,
First day we went out,
2nd day i uses eazydiner to get breakfast for 2 at a discounted rate
