Burgandy Account for Salary of 2.7 lakhs

Hello All,

Currently, I'm receiving a net salary of around 2.7 lakhs per month, which is credited to my account after all taxes. I recently moved my salary account from SBI to Axis Bank, intending to get a Burgundy account. However, they moved my account to Priority Banking instead of Burgundy account, as the minimum criteria for a Burgundy account is a net salary of 3 lakhs per month.

Is there any way I can get a Burgundy account with my current salary? If not, what would be the best salary account option for my salary range?

Thanks in advance!!

Axis has become very strict these days with the burgundy and burgundy private eligibility. So Axis might not provide burgundy with current salary, just talk to BM if they can make burgundy with certain amount of FD or any other option available because you are short by 30000.

If this doesn't work ICICI Wealth or HSBC Premier banking might be an option, as HDFC Imperia doesn't guarantee or provide any other benefits.

In my opinion you should do negotiate before onboarding. Did you negotiate before, and they slipped on their promise of burgundy?

Lmao, you're up for a headache with Axis. Majority of the people would suggest you to park your funds elsewhere. Axis has become more of a joke than bank. Please consider HSBC Premier, Yes Bank, ICICI or maybe HDFC (last resort) if you're looking or good CCs or offers.
HSBC Premier also comes at 3L after taxes. Else 40L IP

I am also in the same range in terms of take home and shifted my salary to ICICI from Citi after 8 long years with them. Super happy with ICICI. They will treat you right. Got super helpful RM where she helped me LTF Sapphiro and now asking to take LTF Emerald PVC but I'm asking for Metal LTF. Crazy part is she got me Sapphiro with 15L CL. Not sure if my Salary or CIBIL helped it.

Any specific reason you want to stick to Axis or chose Axis in the first place?

I already had the old prime savings account which they upgraded into privilege salary account upon the request, Initially they said they said they will try make it burgundy but later they said its not possible.

You usually negotiate before opening an account. That being said, there are a couple of companies on their tier A list for which they open burgundy at 2LPM, too. You can ask RM to check if your company is on that list. Otherwise would suggest you to move to some other bank.. you can get wealth banking at different banks with 2.7LPM.

Also, what's your end goal here? Good customer support or taking premium cc? If premium cc, which bank cc are you missing, or which cc are you targeting? Need some info on the end goal here to help you better 🙂

Please don't believe any verbal promises by any banks/bank employees. Keep a record in written format preferably their official email

Exactly. Check with your RM if your company falls in their special list. The list usually has MNCs and large firms. Don't share the employer name, but can you share your industry/domain? @harshith555

My main goal in getting a Burgundy account was to obtain the Magnus Credit Card, as I've heard it has a better rewards system, a dedicated Relationship Manager, and family banking benefits.

Additionally, the Burgundy Debit Card offers BOGO movie tickets, which is appealing to me as I'm a frequent moviegoer, along with lounge access as i travel twice a year across.

Let me know if there is any other bank that offers a better option I can consider.

This is true.. i have burgundy salary account holder with salary less than 3L.
Opened account online with the link provided by the bank employee.
My employer is in tier 1 list of Axis and no downgrade till now in last 1.5 yrs.
So if employer is in tier 1 list of Axis then salary more than 2L but less than 3L can also work for burgundy salary.

Great! May I know what type of account you hold in ICICI Bank? If it's a Wealth account, what benefits do they offer you?

I am also aiming for the Sapphiro or Emerald LFT card, do we need to request it specifically to get the card?

Additionally, could you let me know which city/branch you're from so I can consider going to the same bank?

I work as an SSE at a mid-level product-based startup, which I don't think falls under the tier 1 category.

My questions are in similar lines,
Specifically are getting Emeralde PVC LTF just by your salary or you have some corporate tieup as well ?
What is your relationship with ICICI other than salary account?

Also do let us know if you score Emeralde Private Metal LTF, I've heard it's quite rare
