Kindly do a test bill payment with small amount. Merchant Name ‘Airtel Payments Ban’.
I have done a test transaction yesterday evening. No idea about amount limit.
I did cc bill payment on airtel app with hdfc platinum dc and got 'Bharti Airtel LT' merchant name on hdfc statement.Got 1% RP.

Unipay debit card not working
Problem is with your HDFC card not Unipay (more precisely wibmo payment agreegator). It happens with HDFC many a times. As I said, all banks are going through system upgrades since Dec 1. So these issues will remain.

DC option still there and working fine for SBI and IDFC card. I have already exhausted all 4 HDFC cards for 16K payment so can't check.

DC option se zyada darr in junkies se lagta hai. Zara sa panckha hila nahi, bhukamp ka jhatka samajh lete hai.

Translation: More than worrying for DC removal, I worry more about junkies who think if fan is moving then it is earthquake.

For people who everyday create a havoc for no reason.

@Abhishek012 ne sahi kaha tha, Yaha roj kuch log aise aayenge jo kahenge unko pts nahi mil rahe, unki txn fail ho rahi hai, unke yeh late ho gaya, unka rupay nahi chal raha, kisi ka VISA nahi chal raha aur roj tamasha karenge.

This error comes right after entering dc details and before getting OTP. OTP doesn't come and it gives 504 time out. Just refresh this error page and OTP will come and transaction will proceed without a problem after entering the otp.

You will need to close wealth account soon as the rate at which DC is getting withdrawn as payment option is getting higher. For rest of Utilities we already have CCs.

But there is also a news in the air that CC payment via another CC can be reintroduced by banks @ 2.36% extra charges. So now they will turn this into an opportunity to profit.
🤣

I have a question, are you guys worried once and if IDFC fixes this and stops reward points on credit card on unipay etc, they will penalize those savings accounts and debit money from our account or reverse reward points and put them in negative??

No. They can't and they won't. Because no cash redemption invloved with IDFC. You can only redeem for vouchers and they also take service charge. Legally, the service you paid for i.e redemption fee here in this case, can't be taken back from you. So they will fall flat in court-of-law.

If you worry that much, reedem all pts, close the account. If they still reach you tell court, an account can be closed when there is no due pending. You can't charge me now. Judge will say, case closed. No more petitions from IDFC will be entertained now.

haha problem is for people like us who are looking to for savings in paying cc bills via sbi unipay, we will never go to court for some thousand amount. Also, it's not just abt savings acc, I have fd's with them and if I rem correctly HDFC and Kotak used to debit money from savings account if you don't pay your credit card bills (I know this is a diff example entirely but they did used to debit without active consent of the customer (probably customer gave consent when they signed the account opening process). I haven't seen it happening now but it did use to happen like 6-7 yrs back, with my dad/brother once hence was wondering.

All banks have the right to settle dues by debiting your account after certain days if you don't pay. They can't break FDs but only at maturity or when you try to break, they will debit and settle the dues first and system marks the lien in advance. So you get the leftover amount.
