Am I the only one who got January month cashback for bill payment on SBIUnipay?
Not only unipay (4900) even airtel (4814) not received cashback yet. They preferred not responding me even after 4 working days. (They mentioned earlier that they will respond in 2 days).

Waiting for 30 days to end, to potentially earn 5000*2 =10,000/- from them. Both transaction on 7th Jan. Will try to attach their own email and whatsapp on this (before and after my transaction) before they charge the terms.

What they promised vs what they delivered. Plus value of my time and unnecessary efforts. They might go under ban again.
 
To provide a reference to kotak 811 team , as per the tweet

In the post user filed rbi complaint for hdfc bank arbitrarily stopping 1% cashback on credit card bill payment using debit card without any communication, rbi has directed to provide compensation for not intimating the change in their t&c. As per existing RBI directions, bank cant change their t&c silently. The bank has to serve timely intimation to all the customers about any change in t&c.
So there is a viable case of rbi complaint against kotak bank for the same.

🚨IMP UPDATE: New Terms and Conditions - 811 Super

811 Super Eligibility:


  1. While completing FKYC/on-boarding to 811 Super program, the minimum A/c account balance should be ₹5,000.
  2. On monthly basis, customer needs to do at least one customer initiated credit transaction of minimum ₹5,000 to get eligible for 811 Super cashback.
  3. 811 Super will be offered for one year from the date of subscription. After 1 year, Customer’s consent will be taken for program continuation.
  4. 811 Super is an exclusive program available to a limited set of customers. Eligibility for 811 Super can be checked through the Kotak811 App.
811 Super Cashback:
  1. Eligible customers - Cashback to 811 Super eligible customers on Debit Card spends & customer needs to credit ₹5,000 every month to avail the Cashback.
  2. Cashback construct - Flat 5% cashback up to ₹500 per month to all 811 Super customers on eligible spends through Kotak Debit card (E-com/ POS (Point of Sales) transactions) up to ₹500/month. Refer to below rules for cashback
Rules
  1. 811 Super eligible customers should spend via Kotak Debit card, ₹5,000 need to be credited in 811 Super a/c to avail flat 5% Cashback up to ₹500 per month.
  2. In order to calculate the spend value only following types of Debit Card transactions are eligible:
  3. Virtual Debit Card
  4. Physical Debit Card transactions (E-com/POS)
Important note:
  1. Inter or intra bank fund transfer, ATM cash withdrawal, wallet top up (transfer from 811 Savings Account to any kind of wallet) or any other type of transaction excluding mentioned above will not be considered. For more details, please refer to the point no. 17 under Terms & conditions for cashback.
  2. Any type of UPI transactions will not be considered as spends.

Terms & Conditions for Cashback:
  1. This cashback has been extended by Kotak Mahindra Bank to 811 Super customers meeting eligibility criteria of ₹5,000 credit/month.
  2. A customer can get a max ₹500 cashback/month.
  3. To get the monthly cashback, 811 Super eligible customers should spend via 811 Debit Cards.
  4. Any kind of fund transfers or ATM cash withdrawal and wallet top-up will not be considered as spend.
  5. Cashback will be rounded down to the nearest whole number.
  6. Customer should spend at least ₹20 to get eligible for cashback.
  7. Cashback will be deposited in 30 days post-completion of the month under consideration.
  8. The cashback is not-transferable.
  9. Participation for the cashback is voluntary.
  10. Any Customer eligible for the cashback shall be deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these terms and conditions, general terms and conditions of the Bank.
  11. Kotak Mahindra Bank reserves the right, at any time, without prior notice and without assigning any reason whatsoever, to add/alter/modify/change or vary all or any of these terms and conditions or to replace, wholly or reduce the cashback.
  12. The Bank reserves the right to disqualify any Customer from the benefits under the Offer if any fraudulent activity is observed as being carried out for availing the benefits under the offer.
  13. The decision of the Bank in all matters in connection with and incidental to this offer is final and shall be binding on all persons.
  14. Disputes, if any, arising out of or in connection with or as a result of the above cashback or otherwise relating hereto shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Mumbai courts.

    • 7800- Government licensed - lottery
    • 7801- Government licensed- online gambling

Ans: After ₹300 deduction you will get SMS/Email about issuance of 811 Super Physical Debit Card and Cheque Book. Depending on your address it can take 3-10 days for it to reach you. Do not disturb us with your silly questions until you get your Debit Card.

Que: I got a welcome kit but there was only cheque book in it, where is the debit card? Did they forget it? Did someone steal it? Am I unlucky? Why this happens to only me?
Ans: Buddy just wait a little longer your will get it eventually. Cheque book and Debit card is sent in a separate package. Just trust me you will get it. I know you don't have a life but I have one so don't ruin it with your silly comments.

Que: You were telling the truth, I got the debit card after few days, now what?
Ans: First of all make sure you deposit at least ₹5000 in your 811 Super Account to enable 5% cashback feature. After that you use your 811 Super Debit Card for transactions to get 5% cashback.

Que: How do I deposit money in this account?
Ans: Easiest way is use Add money option available in the Kotak App. Or you can transfer money via UPI to this account. Default UPI address for this account is <Mob>@kotak811 where <Mob> is your mobile number. For example if your mobile number is 9876543210 then your default UPI address will be 9876543210@kotak811

Que: Do I need to deposit ₹5000 only once?
Ans: You need to deposit at least ₹5000 once every month to keep enjoying 5% cashback. By chance you forgot to deposit ₹5000 in the account you will not get any cashback for that month. Don't blame it on us later.

Que: Can I withdraw ₹5000 I deposited in the account or do I need to keep it in the account?
Ans: You can withdraw the amount immediately after depositing it. There is no minimum balance requirement for this account.

Que: How much cashback can I earn?
Ans: You can earn maximum ₹500 cashback every month. So in a year you can get ₹500 x 12 = ₹6000 cashback.

Que: What is the minimum transaction amount required for cashback?
Ans: Minimum transaction amount is ₹20 for getting ₹1 cashback.

Que: How much cashback will I get If I did a transaction of ₹3633 via 811 Super Debit Card?
Ans: You will receive ₹181 for this transaction. 5% cashback is rounded down to nearest whole number.

Que: When will I receive the cashback?
Ans: You will receive the cashback in the next month of doing transaction. For example you did transactions of ₹9000 in January then you will receive ₹450 cashback in February.

Que: Where will I receive the cashback?
Ans: You will receive the cashback directly in your Kotak 811 Savings Account. You only need to do the transaction(s) and cashback will be automatically credited to your account next month.

Que: Is there any particular date for cashback?
Ans: According to the terms & conditions bank can send cashback on any date in next month. From the previous trends we can say you will get cashback on/after 15th of every month. Telling you again, there is no specific date for cashback.

Que: Someone posted that they got cashback, but I did not get anything, why?
Ans: Cashbacks are processed in batches. Some might get it earlier and some later. Don't worry you will get your ₹500 cashback for sure.

Que: Is there any charges for Physical Debit Card?
Ans: Debit card fee is included in the yearly ₹300 fee you will pay for 811 super account.

Que: Is the cheque book also free?
Ans: Yes, one cheque book of 25 leaves is free per year. If you order more than that you will be charged ₹3 per cheque leaf.

Que: Will I get cashback for using 811 Super Debit Card to pay credit card bill?
Ans: It's finished as of now.

Que: Can I open multiple accounts with same number?
Ans: No, you can only open 1 account from 1 mobile number.

That will work, safest process would be to use "add money" button in the kotak 811 app.

Go to 811 app, add money. Dont directly send to <yourmobile@kotak> upi id, the tnc explicitly mention "customer initiated transaction" so I doubt your method is considered

All methods work as long as money is deposited manually and not some automatic transaction like fd matured, interest payment etc.
 
I got the email about an update in the policy of 811 super on 28th January, so the transaction before that should be eligible for cashback but last month I got nothing for the month of January, I talked to the customer service on call regarding the same thing where I mentioned they can not impose the updated rule on the past transaction as it was done before the update and I have received the cashback for the same merchant last month. But she was just saying that you are not eligible for it as per the terms and conditions and repeated same thing after my objection to it. Considering her tone to talk which was also not professional I decided to give up. And try the other route by escalating it through e-mail and asked her about the month of February transaction which I done on canara setu as I was aware based on update canara setu was a better alternative and she told me those transactions are eligible for cashback as the MCC code was 5311.
For this month I haven't done any transaction yet because I don't know which are the options now to get cashback. If somebody knows anything please share it here.
And what you guys think about escalating the matter for month of January in which I have done the transaction using airtel.

No point in escalating as they also have following point in the tnc :
"The decision of the Bank in all matters in connection with and incidental to this offer is final and shall be binding on all persons."
