1% Cashback returns on HDFC Platinum Debit Card

Is this Bill Pay in HDFC bank app.
I see it in scheduled in Bill Pay section on the app.
What kind of nonsense is this by HDFC. There is a "SmartPay Enabled" and then there is a "Scheduled Pay"
When one enables SmartPay, it clearly says "The bill will be paid every month, 4 days prior to the due date" at multiple places.

Yet there is no entry under "View Scheduled Payments"

How the hell are these two different in HDFC's dictionary?
My card's due date was 18th. It was SmartPay Enabled, yet the auto pay did not happen even by today. Is it because it was not added via ADD BILLER under SCHEDULED?

This may not answer your question but you have selected "Pay from savings account". I think it should be "pay from debit card". Correct me someone if I am wrong.

If you click on any existing biller, it will take you to the manual payment screen where the default payment option is savings account, irrespective of the payment option selected while enabling SmartPay. What you see is that screenshot.
Moreover the question was about auto pay not working (not about cashback using platinum debit card).

Was the bill already generated when you added the biller in bill pay?

No! Even when you have scheduled Autopay via debit card and when you click the option to pay the bill manually, the netbanking option will show as the first option by default. But you will have the option to select debit card in the dropdown menu. But regardless, if you pay manually via debit card you will not get reward points. The reward points will be credited if the bill is paid without manual intervention.

@ontherocks : that is the problem for many. You have to enable autopay and then your bill should also show up under scheduled payment. In my experience, enabling smart pay via old netbanking interface doesn't work. However, it works well when done via mobile app. I guess you did via mobile app. However, certain billers are added within one day, whereas for certain other billers it take one billing cycle for the bill to be added in the scheduled payment even via mobile app. In my case ICICI bills are added under the scheduled tab within one day, but for SBI and axis i have to wait for one billing cycle.

How many days before due date does a bill show up in scheduled, any idea?

Added a SBI cc on 3 March. Bill generated on 9 March. Due by 28th March.
I am expecting HDFC will autopay by 25th March.
Just wondering when the bill will show up in scheduled.
Can see in pending/ scheduled payments now.
So can safely say that the Bill shows up in scheduled at least 12+ days before due date.
Bill will be paid on 24th, So 4/5 days in advance.

Info might be helpful for some.

Maybe in your case you are not metting criteria of T+4 if you have added biller recently. Like in my case due date was 20th but still did not got Autopay. & Some members mentioned you won't always get this this option. It's a hit & miss.

The biller was added long back, but I enabled SmatPay after bill generation.
Suggest to make payment with some other method to avoid missing the due date.
For future delete the biller and re-add biller with selecting smartpay from starting to be om safer side.
