How to Maximize Your Rewards

  1. Utilize the Airtel Thanks App: Make all your Airtel payments and utility bill payments through the app to earn higher cashback.
  2. Plan Dining and Grocery Spends: Use the card on Zomato, Swiggy, and BigBasket to get 10% cashback.
  3. Don't Aim for Annual Fee Waiver: Pay annual fee to get higher %, know when to stop using card.

Note: Above calculations assumed only if one spends on mentioned categories fully every month for whole year. which is a rare scenario, so consider your spends and calculate 50%-80% reward rate based on that.

Realistic Return %

Note: An example scenario

airtel 2GB/day for 365 days cost: ₹3599
2GB/day for 28 days cost: ₹349 (with airtel card we're getting 25% discount, so actually we're paying ₹262 which means annually paying ₹3141 (hopefully no devaluation by that time))

so, actual % we're getting for airtel recharges using airtel app when paid through airtel axis credit card: 12%

If we consider that value, then spend on 12% Airtel Payments + 10% Utilities + 10% Preferred App = 9.65%
or spent whole 2 Lacs = 5.71%

// Best card for up-to 2L annual spends (when fully utilized airtel bills, utility and preferred partner app benefits)

thats a whole level different process. btw, benefits are combinedly for both primary and addon, so no extra benefit for add-on cards except amzn/fk etc. 10% axis offers.
Actually I want to give this card to my son as he will be living away from home for higher studies.
( he manages my family's recharges.)
So I was thinking to give him the add-on card, or should I just change the mobile number in the card and give him the original card (if that's possible) ?

you can apply add-on using netbanking/mobile app, follow the process. If any stage it got stuck due to insufficient docs (mostly not, if add-on holder already have axis account its very easy, otherwise also ok to get through netbanking/mobile app) then have to visit branch and thats a lengthy process. But first try through netbanking and see whether its working for you or not.

1) If i reach max cashback of ₹250 in both category (25% & 10%) and do another transaction of either Airtel or any Utility Bill will i now get 1% Cashback or no cashback at all ?

2) If I buy a smartphone from Amazon/Flipkart will i get 1% Cashback ?

No

Yes

Additionally, try axis 'grab deal' for some additional cashback for Flipkart/amazon. That comes as cashback in about 4 months.

For eg. If the customer spends Rs. 30,000 in a billing cycle with the following break up of spends of
i) Recharge through Airtel Thanks App: Rs. 2,500
ii) Utility Bill payment through Airtel Thanks App: Rs. 2,500
iii) Swiggy, Zomato & Bigbasket: Rs. 5,000
iv) Other spends: Rs. 20,000.

Out of these “Other spends”, Rs. 10,000 was an EMI purchase.

Thus, the total spends eligible for cashback would only be Rs. 2,500 + Rs. 2,500 + 5,000+ {Rs.20,000 – Rs. 10,000 (EMI transaction)} Rs. 10,000 = 20,000

The cashback for the billing cycle in example would be calculated as follows:
25% of Rs. 2,500 = Rs. 625 (since it is capped at Rs.250 per month, eligible cashback will be Rs.250)
10% of Rs. 2,500 = Rs. 250
10% of Rs. 5,000 = 500
1% of Rs. 10,000 = Rs. 100

Thus, the total cashback for the example would be Rs. 250+250+500+100 = Rs. 1,100

Will there be any confirmation for grab deal cashback or do i just wait for 90-120 days and hope cashback will be credited ?

. . .

You can now slowly think of writting journal papers (academic) or newspaper article....Just my thought...

Sometimes, while trying to pay Airtel landline, upfront cashback amount is not shown. Will it be eligible for 25% cashback?
When I tried another Airtel number, cashback amount was shown. So confused.

Is it mandatory to click on Apply to get cashback?

don't worry here, axis will credit if MID matches in statement. coupon apply not needed.

yes, this is great card...I think it is best for Monthly 1000 cashback on spending of Rs. 8500 ( 1000 on airtel + 2500 on utility and 5000 on swiggy, zomato and bigbasket)...
But the problem is 1) for swiggy, zomato and bigbasket, few other DC and CC are giving accational 15% to 20% instant cashback (like this month PNB CC is giving 15%)
2) for utility and airtel the cap is very low for genuine use also...I get monthly Rs.5000 electricity bill
but it is still good
For 1) best use is to load bb wallet once and utilise it the entire month in both big basket and bbnow through Tata Neu. Approx 15%

Can also be used for Swiggy Dineout where minimum threshold for discount is not reached for HDFC or other cards.
