Introduction

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to launch RuPay credit cards with all major banks in the coming years. RuPay currently offers three main credit card variants:

1. RuPay Classic (Basic/Standard)
2. RuPay Platinum (Premium) // includes SwiggyOne, Spa, Gift Cards, and more.
3. RuPay Select (Super Premium)

There are also two sub-types under RuPay Select:

1. RuPay Select
2. RuPay Select Wellness (includes Gym, Spa, Golf programs, and more).

Key Features of RuPay Credit Cards

• International Acceptance: Supported by Discover Financial Services, Diners Club International, Pulse, and JCB.
• Free Benefits: Lounge access, wellness perks, and e-commerce offers.
• Bank Offers: RuPay cards are eligible for the same offers as Visa/Mastercard (e.g., 10% discounts on Amazon, Flipkart).
• No Discrimination Between Networks: If your Visa/Mastercard is lifetime free, the RuPay equivalent will also be lifetime free.

• Other banks have similar procedures; contact their respective customer service for details.

1. RuPay cards are on par with Visa/Mastercard in terms of offers and features.
2. Newly launched RuPay cards might not immediately qualify for e-commerce offers—contact the bank for updates (Everything starts working perfectly after a few months).

Total 300+ banks issue RuPay Platinum debit card, If you dnt have any problem with branch visiting then almost all Co-operative banks issue RuPay Platinum with just minimum 500 to 2000 AQB, visit all your nearest Co-operative banks and easily get RuPay Platinum.

Even Gpay doesn't support RuPay cards 🤦

GPay & JioPay already integrate with RuPay card but NPCI dnt give go live certificate. I think they are first waiting for tokenization implementation, last date is 30th June, 2022 and then GPay will start support RuPay card.

If you live in any Rural area, village, island, mountain, forest area etc then SBI acc MAB between 250 to 3000.

I can't bother with SBI, too much of an headache. And maintaining 50K for SBI is a joke tbh. They don't offer value, hence I don't keep much there (around 3K)! 🤷‍♂️

SBI is fantastic bank if you want hassle free NEFT/IMPS, UPI through gpay can be little dodgy, especially on rush time, but if you use odd app like freecharge its better.

However, don't use SBI for keeping money, it's a terrible bank in terms of customer first policies. With them customer is just dog they can either ignore or throw out whenever they feel like it.
