All RuPay Credit card issuer bank list & How to change Visa to RuPay Credit card:

NPCI is planning to launch RuPay credit cards with all credit card issuing banks in the next few years. NPCI currently focusing to get the banks ready, enabled and certified.

You should know RuPay has 3 variants of credit cards -

1) RuPay Classic (Standard/Basic card) - equivalent to Visa/mastercard classic.

2) RuPay Platinum (Premium card) - equivalent to Visa/mastercard Platinum

3) RuPay Select (Super Premium card) - equivalent to Visa Signature and mastercard World.

Now Before start one last and important thing, you guys should know. Banks never discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. What does it mean ?

This means that if your Visa credit card is life time free then the same variant RuPay credit card will also be life time free or if you change your existing life time free Visa card to RuPay then your new RuPay variant card comes by default life time free.

2nd thing, Any offers given by banks are also applicable on your RuPay credit cards too like Axis, HDFC, ICICI, SBI CARD, BOB etc 10% discount offers on Amazon and Flipkart or other e-commerce websites (Ofcourse sometimes newly launch RuPay card is not eligible for e-commerce discount offers but that doesn't mean banks discrimination between Visa/mastercard vs RuPay. It simply meaning your card is new, bank systems are not updated, wait for few months or complaint to banks they will soon fix it. In fact, newly launch Yes bank Visa & RuPay both credit cards and few months back one person told Axis Magnus Visa Credit card is not working on e-com discount offers). So i hope it's clear. All bank offers are eligible on RuPay credit cards too.

10) IDBI Bank (LIC Co-branded RuPay credit card) - IDBI bank RuPay Winnings Credit Card, RuPay LIC 'Lumine' Platinum Credit Card and RuPay LIC 'Eclat' Select credit card available.

LIC RuPay Credit cards are currently available only for LIC policy holders and apply through LIC branch or LIC agents.

In your bank statement you can check currently which category you are in. Silver, gold, diamond etc. Even If you are Gold (AQB 25K) you may get platinum card, if you are lucky.

Yeah I know I'm in silver but I'm holding 1lac for a month now so I thought to give a try though it should be 50k AQB.
I can understand I'm not eligible but what is invalid account error

2. He told he can't check right now and this can be checked only after closing the existing card

3. There are 42 different codes available. If RP can't be issued, another card of the existing card variant would be issued

4. As per him customer care doesn't even know the "B" of Banking (which I feel is somewhat true) but in my mind I was also thinking you guys also more and less are same.

You can find your account category (Silver, Gold, Platinum etc.) in your monthly bank statement. Check top right box. You can find which segment your account belongs to.

Can you provide a list of RuPay/JCB Platinum Debit Card which can be registered on Loungekey /jcb12/ site ?
We know . UBI , SBI JCB Platinum is not registering .

RuPay/JCB Platinum Debit Card issuing banks - TJSB bank, City union bank, Axis bank, PNB bank, Central Bank of India etc (i dnt know loungekey service supported or not)

I receive a reply from RuPay customer support about my loungekey service query.

First they told me to share this details -

Please share the details in the below format to resolve your query related to lounge key services. Thank you for your kind understanding."

I told them My loungekey service query is not about any specific banks, My question about all RuPay/JCB Platinum debit cards variant and all RuPay/JCB Platinum debit card issuing banks are eligible for loungekey services ?

Because not only SBI and Union bank but many other banks issuing RuPay/JCB Platinum debit card.

For example - TJSB bank, City union bank etc

I need a clear answer this RuPay/JCB Platinum debit card is provide Loungekey for International lounge services or not ?

Then i receive this reply -

"Hi Abhishek, please be informed that your respective bank has to enable the lounge key services from their end. Request you to get in touch with them for further assistance. Thank you."

Your debit amount will get reversed within max 10 working days but no reverse statement will showing because this amount is in hold and reverse back within 10 working days.

Just sharing my thoughts on Rupay Cards.

Though I am happy overall by getting a Rupay Credit card from BoB, today I faced a big disappointment when I was trying to use my Rupay CC online. I was trying to book flight tickets on 'Cleartrip' today, to avail 20% discount on flights using BoB CC offer. To my shock, I found out that Cleartrip does NOT accept Rupay cards as payment method!! Because of this, I had pick another bank offer, settling with 12% discount. I also remember an incidence when I was trying to buy some Tea from GTAC's Tea Lounge in Guwahati, I saw its POS declining Rupay cards as payment method.

I am shocked to know that our own payment network does not work in the sites and POSs of our own country. A payment network can give attractive many offers. But in the end, it has to work on the basic things expected from it, one of which is acceptability. I am not expecting worldwide acceptance of Rupay Cards(though I have a great desire that it may be accepted worldwide), but I at least expect nationwide acceptance of them. I cannot roam with my pocket having only a Rupay card inside it. I have to carry a VISA card as a backup. Either Rupay should work with merchants and banks to enable near 100% acceptability, like VISA and Mastercard, or the Govt. should itself pass a mandate to force banks and merchants to accept Rupay cards, if they are accepting other payment networks. I don't think that there would be a loss to any stakeholder due to this mandate.
