Introduction

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to launch RuPay credit cards with all major banks in the coming years. RuPay currently offers three main credit card variants:
  1. RuPay Classic (Basic/Standard)
  2. RuPay Platinum (Premium) // includes SwiggyOne, Spa, Gift Cards, and more.
  3. RuPay Select (Super Premium)
There are also two sub-types under RuPay Select:
  1. RuPay Select
  2. RuPay Select Wellness (includes Gym, Spa, Golf programs, and more).
Key Features of RuPay Credit Cards
  • International Acceptance: Supported by Discover Financial Services, Diners Club International, Pulse, and JCB.
  • Free Benefits: Lounge access, wellness perks, and e-commerce offers.
  • Bank Offers: RuPay cards are eligible for the same offers as Visa/Mastercard (e.g., 10% discounts on Amazon, Flipkart).
  • No Discrimination Between Networks: If your Visa/Mastercard is lifetime free, the RuPay equivalent will also be lifetime free.

Each bank offers straightforward processes to switch to RuPay:

  1. RuPay cards are on par with Visa/Mastercard in terms of offers and features.
  2. Newly launched RuPay cards might not immediately qualify for e-commerce offers—contact the bank for updates (Everything starts working perfectly after a few months).
  3. RuPay's partnerships ensure seamless international acceptance.

I have couple of doubts regarding the after effects of this conversion.

1. Bob ever Consider upgrade to Eterna for those who hold Premier Card?

2. If such upgrade is available, will it affect if someone convert Visa Premier to Rupay Premier (Because Eterna comes under Visa network)?

3. All are discussing about the pros of Rupay here, Same time I'm curious to know if there any disadvantages if someone convert to Rupay from Visa?

1st May, 2022 - he told me - Filled the form and sent to LIC cards guy of Hyderabad. He’ll send it to Mumbai it seems.

Once I get it, I’ll ask this LIC cards officer how you guys can apply, and I’ll share here. You can apply under policy holder quota.

He also told me "I know for a fact that only two people in our division have applied for this card and they got it."

22th May, 2022 - i ask him - Any update about your lic RuPay card apply ?

He replied, I can see enquiry report from IDBI in CIBIL report though

Yesterday he told me, he got card approved msg.

Are you sure about this info
As only Rupay card is visible in the online portal.
What about the spends I make on visa variant will the be shown in the rupay varient itself??

Offline wala jo thaa, wo bank agent aaj (jab mera card deliver hua) phone karke bataya ki income proof chhaiye. Pehle nahi manga thaa. Mein ne usko bataya ki card mil chuka hai.
Apply process -
Pehle twitter pe complain kiya ki Online se card apply nahi ho raha . Twitter walo ne kuchh din baad kaha ki aab apply karlo. Apply karne ke baad tweet kiya wagera wagera.
6 June ko apply kiya. 8 June ko mere existing card ka photo manga gaya (documents@bobworld....) . 22 June ko approve hua, 27 June ko dispatch hua and 29 June ko mere haath mein card. Koi verification call nahi aya. Mera unke saath ek zero balance account hai

VKYC nehi huya tha bhai? Apply karne ke bad link aya tha kuch for completing VKYC?

Did you apply as salaried?

Yes. I applied as a salaried person. But, BoB gives card (even higher variant easily) to Self employed as well. Got premier with limit of 6 lakh for my uncle who owns a business.
Docs required for my application - PAN Card photo (for VKYC, While paper for signature.
Bank statement is also required, but since my income was low, and the payslip of my new company was not generated, I had used the details (Company name, its address) and bank statement of previous company. However, I also shared my existing Credit Card's (Amazon Pay ICICI ) statement along with bank statement. I had forgotten to attach the front picture of the credit card, otherwise, I would have recevied the card within 10 days of application.

Also, the signature that one needs to show to the agent during VKYC must be the same as that appears in the PAN Card. In 2021, I had applied for BoB, but it was declined, because of this signature thing.

IS this valid for easy rupay upgrade to premier rupay upgrade.... Will the easy card not deactivated...???

Bob JCB Premier addon card is also able to register through lounge key. Also complementary access is showing in loungekey website for addon card.

Will they allow lounge access for addon card via loungekey?
 
Just was thinking of converting my bob one as rupay will the first getting UPI, and here you have posted, I had contacted bob cc before they had told me write on the conversion mail before. Thanks for the mail, I wrote a mail today , let see.
