Introduction

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to launch RuPay credit cards with all major banks in the coming years. RuPay currently offers three main credit card variants:
  1. RuPay Classic (Basic/Standard)
  2. RuPay Platinum (Premium) // includes SwiggyOne, Spa, Gift Cards, and more.
  3. RuPay Select (Super Premium)
There are also two sub-types under RuPay Select:
  1. RuPay Select
  2. RuPay Select Wellness (includes Gym, Spa, Golf programs, and more).
Key Features of RuPay Credit Cards
  • International Acceptance: Supported by Discover Financial Services, Diners Club International, Pulse, and JCB.
  • Free Benefits: Lounge access, wellness perks, and e-commerce offers.
  • Bank Offers: RuPay cards are eligible for the same offers as Visa/Mastercard (e.g., 10% discounts on Amazon, Flipkart).
  • No Discrimination Between Networks: If your Visa/Mastercard is lifetime free, the RuPay equivalent will also be lifetime free.

How to Switch from Visa/Mastercard to RuPay​

Each bank offers straightforward processes to switch to RuPay:

Final Notes​

  1. RuPay cards are on par with Visa/Mastercard in terms of offers and features.
  2. Newly launched RuPay cards might not immediately qualify for e-commerce offers—contact the bank for updates (Everything starts working perfectly after a few months).
  3. RuPay's partnerships ensure seamless international acceptance.

Apply For LTF AU LIT Credit Card

I think SBI Simplyclick will also live, last december month MITC file mentioned about RuPay Simpliclick variant.

Axis also issue lifetime free IOCL and mostly everyone got RuPay variant (100% online apply and easy to get).

ICICI Coral RuPay variant apply through online, send request through online and you will receive call back from ICICI bank.

PNB bank RuPay CC also apply through online but you need to wait 2-3 months.

Union bank RuPay CC also apply through Union bank branches.

An offtopic newbie question when it comes to rupay cards. What are the advantages of moving from visa/mastercard to rupay. Why does anyone want to change. Is there a thread on the same?

Why are they issuing Rupay JCB Cards?
Rupay Discover cards are fully integrated in Indian merchants but still they want to issue pathetic JCB Cards.

Do you know RuPay now started new series of RuPay Domestic Credit cards BIN start with 8176 🤣🤣

Same like JCB variant, many websites are not supported yet 81 series RuPay debit/credit/prepaid cards.

BOB is the first bank got "817617" and "817618" series RuPay Domestic Credit cards BIN.

I am not 100% sure but maybe BOB BUPB "RuPay PRAGATI" Credit Card use this BIN.

Anyways, within 3 years i guess all websites will start supporting RuPay JCB and 81 series RuPay Domestic Credit cards BINs (All major websites are already supported).

Note - RuPay Domestic Credit cards means you can use any where RuPay network is accepted like Indian, UAE, Singapore, Bahrain, Bhutan, Nepal etc.

No, last time i ask RuPay support team, they replied It's decided by the banks.

I emailed HDFC for converting my Moneyback + from Visa to Rupay. AS per them, they dont have it on Rupay network. Can anyone provide link where HDFC has mentioned they have it on Rupay network.

Send email again or call HDFC bank (HDFC bank also conversion through Call).
