Introduction

The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) is set to launch RuPay credit cards with all major banks in the coming years. RuPay currently offers three main credit card variants:
  1. RuPay Classic (Basic/Standard)
  2. RuPay Platinum (Premium) // includes SwiggyOne, Spa, Gift Cards, and more.
  3. RuPay Select (Super Premium)
There are also two sub-types under RuPay Select:
  1. RuPay Select
  2. RuPay Select Wellness (includes Gym, Spa, Golf programs, and more).
Key Features of RuPay Credit Cards
  • International Acceptance: Supported by Discover Financial Services, Diners Club International, Pulse, and JCB.
  • Free Benefits: Lounge access, wellness perks, and e-commerce offers.
  • Bank Offers: RuPay cards are eligible for the same offers as Visa/Mastercard (e.g., 10% discounts on Amazon, Flipkart).
  • No Discrimination Between Networks: If your Visa/Mastercard is lifetime free, the RuPay equivalent will also be lifetime free.

12. AU Small Finance Bank​

  • Update 11th, December, 2024: Now all AU bank Credit Cards live on RuPay including AU LIT, Vetta, Zenith, AU Zenith+ RuPay Credit Card etc

How to Switch from Visa/Mastercard to RuPay​

Each bank offers straightforward processes to switch to RuPay:

  1. RuPay cards are on par with Visa/Mastercard in terms of offers and features.
  2. Newly launched RuPay cards might not immediately qualify for e-commerce offers—contact the bank for updates (Everything starts working perfectly after a few months).
  3. RuPay's partnerships ensure seamless international acceptance.

Apply For LTF AU LIT Credit Card
Do we need to wait one year to change BoB Premier Visa to Rupay? Got the following response when I mailed them -

Greetings from BOB Financial Solutions Ltd!

We would like to inform you that you have been issued the credit card as per your eligibility according to our company’s policy.

However if you wish to change your product/variant/franchise increase the credit limit, please send us your request after completion of at least one year from the date of issuance of your credit card.

Since September I have received such responses only. Till August i think they processed unconditional network change. I got my card in September and stuck on visa.

Yes, just now i read, last week Nigeria launched Nigerian's Domestic Card like RuPay card in India.

I read many articles around the world. Indonesia, Thailand, South Korea, Pakistan, Sri lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh including Europe/European Union. They always praise China and India for having our own domestic payment networks.

A few decades ago, there existed a total of 30+ credit card companies from various European countries, but all went bankrupt or were acquired by Visa/Mastercards.

The Best time to support our RuPay card is today. So, after 20 years we will see that RuPay will accept everywhere around the world (atleast all major countries).

If it works happy, but the problem is they aren't working majorly

Always love to take visa/Master cards faced Zero issues

Everytime facing issues with rupay 😂

Where you used ? which website ?

RuPay card accept almost all Indian websites and offline POS machines.

Maybe some problem on your card and remember i problem everyone facing is newly launch tokenization.

if your card is saved on any website and card otp page is not open then delete your saved card and use.

your card is saved ? If yes then next time delete your saved card on merchant site and try without save your card.

and amazon add money offer (fridays) card otp page is not easily open because huge number of people use that day.

Amazon server can't handle the traffic on fridays.
