Axis Magnus Alternative in case of Axis Magnus devaluation or discontinuation

Axis Magnus is currently leader of credit cards in India. But we know soon it is going to be devalued. May be axis decides to discontinue it. Axis Magnus is such a card that covers all types of users. Those who travel a lot, pay utility bills, do shopping, etc. It is kind of all in one card at the moment. Even if fees of this card is 10K plus taxes but we still get something in return. Reward rate we all know cannot be matched by any other credit card. Another good thing is it gets easily approved comparatively. Credit cards like infinia are difficult to get and nothing much in return for fees.

What you guys think is the next bank credit card available in India like Magnus which is best for all types of users and easily available?

Infinia gets 12500 points against the annual fee paid.. these are easily worth 12500.. only gst on this is out of pocket Rs 2250

No chance of discontinuation. Why they will kill their own brand?
Devaluation: Depends on what they do
a) Close the spend based bonus (Then Atlas and Magnus would be in same league except Magnus will still have all other benefits apart from Travel)
b) Reduce the value of the points / conversion ratio.

They will still make sure that they will be competitive to Infinia.

People have already answered the right alternatives : Infinia, DCB.

First things first. Axis has a habit of announcing devaluation by giving some timeframe, no worries for that. Just enjoy the show till the show lasts. This community will be very quick in helping out if devaluation really happens.

If you are eligible to get and can afford the fees for other cards apart from Magnus keep HDFC Infinia, DCB, Atlas for travellers. But keep in mind that any card from any bank might get devalued at any given point.

You might think that the 25k bonus seems crazy, right? But that is what sets the Magnus apart, and a majority of them won't be hitting that milestone every month. Some will make unnecessary spends to meet that goal(which is what Axis wants). Right now, the publicity and customer acquisition alone makes it worthwhile. Also, all banks have joining fee reversals in place to tempt customers to make more spends, but Axis found a way to make customers hit a targeted spend every month. The team behind this card is truly genius. Moreover, Airlines and hotels make good money selling their miles and points, which is a sure-shot income for them. In fact, it's a great way for them to offload unsold inventory. I don't see major devaluations until and unless this becomes unsustainable for the transfer partners. If Axis was burning their hands on their cards, they would've cut the plug by now. I agree, you get some insane returns, but move away from points transfer and look at other redemption options, you'll see the magic fade.

Axis wanted to increase their credit card user base with their offerings and want to give tough fight to HDFC, SBI and ICICI. With Magnus, Reserve, Vistara Cards, Atlas, Ace, Flipkart Axis they’ve got good customer base.

After acquiring Citi cards and with this current user base they almost achieved what they wanted to achieve. But it’s up to them to move further. They are offering never before reward rates which is being the talk of nation with Magnus with many influencers, bloggers, communities discussing about them.

Grab deals devaluation, Lounge access devaluation and some other cards devaluation is starting point for Magnus devaluation some day. But enjoy till party lasts.

What about normal people who can't get Infinia or DCB? HDFC is notoriously stingy in giving out both. What are the next best options after the big three (Magnus, Inifinia, DCB)?

Rather than devaluing the card, I feel Axis will just block cards of holders who abuse it. I think Axis knows in a way that Magnus is currently the undisputed king of the hill and most people want it in their portfolio. If there were any potential devaluations, it should have already happened.
