Very good..

Me too, I will probably go for Amex trifacta..
Will be applying for Plat travel in a day or two..and later gold charge..It seems this gives a big bang for the buck...
Sounds like a good idea.
I am thinking of using Amex for a bit and see how it gels with me. In next referral stage will see if Trifacta agrees with me.

Both of our cards were delivered right now by Bluedart. I believe yours will be delivered too today.
I am not at home so will only check in evening.

Regarding MRCC -
I believe Fuel spends don't give MR points. However, are they eligible for 1500*4 and 20k overall spend for month milestones?

Also I usually fill from IOCL. Is it necessary to fill up from HPCL for surcharge waiver?
Wrt fuel transactions I personally have Citi IOCL LTF, HDFC IOCL LTF, SBI BPCL Paid, Axis IOCL LTF. If you’re wondering why so many fuel card then it’s coz once in every quarter i do a trip of 3k Km so i spend 15-20k on fuel in that month.

Citi I would say is good because rewards are always credited and 1 rewards point is equivalent to 1 Rupee when redeemed for fuel transactions. The drawback is they have a list ot outlets and mostly they’re in Tier 1 & Tier 2 cities and that too very less outlets but i have mapped the outlets i get rewards at and only use it there.(Though I don’t think CITI is issuing new cards)

HDFC IOCL is a hit and miss because there is no list of pumps you can look for but since it is a xtrarewards based program I figured that every outlet of IOCL offering xtrarewards would support cashback on this card and so i looked up those outlets and surprisingly it has worked for me 9 out of 10 times. Also the rewards can be redeemed in form of xtrarewards at IOCL pump.

Axis IOCL again supports only COCO pumps and again there is no way to look for a list of the same but I’ve used it at the same pumps as HDFC IOCL and again this card has mostly worked but the reward is in form of edge points which i am not a fan of tbh.

SBI BPCL honestly is my last option if and when i need fuel refill above 15k and I’ve exhausted my rewards on the other 3 cards. Main purpose for the card is online instant discounts. I mostly completely 50k in an year with this so never paid for the card.

I will be applying for Amex MRCC and plan on utilising it’s 1500x4 spend for 1000 MR instead of using my Axis IOCL since I don’t like edge rewards.

There are Kotak IOCL, BOB Energia, IDFC Power and Power Plus and ICICI HPCL card out there too but from what I’ve got to know from others is that BOB is a waste since rewards are not credited until concern is raised (same as SBI). People say Kotak is good and I personally like IDFC Power plus but I don’t like the HP Pay feature.

Hope this helps!!

here is dropping my amex referral link.

Wait did you have to give two KYC or just one? Also were you an existing Amex customer or this is the first time you’ve applied?

should I also go for gold card? any benefits?

Considering my spending can easily reach around 3lac annually with these two cards together (60-70 thousand for smartearn + rest with mrcc)

Suggestions please

Absolutely gold gives the best return when used for buying vocuhers though the fee is expensive its worth it with 5x and also you can ask for waiver or additonal MR during renewal
