AMEX Plat Travel Taj Voucher

Hi TFC,

I recently completed my 4L milestone with Plat Travel and have been waiting for the Taj Voucher.

I noticed that different people received their Taj Vouchers at different time. Some people got it in two weeks, Some even got it within 3 days.

AMEX support says it will take 30 days.

I was wondering if AMEX sends this on some particular days. If you could comment which date you received the voucher, Maybe I can find when will I receive it.

You can use the Taj voucher to pay for your stay or use them for food and soft drinks payment or spa.

Successfully redeemed one of my 10k Taj Voucher for dining (lunch) benefit at Taj Jim Corbett (Delhi-NCR).
No issues whatsoever, I had confirmed about being able to use the voucher beforehand too by phone.
Was totally worth it rather than redeeming it for lunch in Delhi, just the river-side (open) food experience and exploring around the resort was like a mini-outing.

PS: We dined at their new Asian-Thai restaurant (Makrut Deck ?), food was so-so. Didn't feel as authentic as we have dined at some of the other asian restaurants in Delhi itself (Papapa in Saket).
The most infuriating part was GST was 18% due to the recent change/increase for dining in hotels/resorts compared to 5% for standalone restaurants.
So more or less 8k for food, 2k taxes~

i thought amex taj voucher can only be used for food only if you stay there....rather than only food...

Have 2 with me, Can we use it just for food. I contacted the local taj and they were not accepting.

It’s always a hit or miss when trying to redeem Amex Taj voucher outside its scope of terms and conditions.

Huh what ? My friend has dined at Taj Delhi multiple times using just the voucher, he/we never used it for stay.
Just call up the Taj Restaurant, start by asking for a table reservation and then ask that you will like to settle the bill using Taj Voucher and if it will be okay, we always got a answer that its okay.

PS: You can also always email the hotel/restaurant directly for a written confirmation.

Just to add, this was my 2nd redemption (first being Taj Palace Delhi, restaurant only), while my friend has redeemed 4-5 vouchers by now, between both Taj's in Delhi and Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai, just for dining.
Also, not just Taj Jim Corbett, but I had confirmed the same with Taj Rishikesh too and they were fine with it, but were fully booked so we couldn't get table reservation for our planned dates.

No they will accept Taj voucher 10k for stay or dinning. When you checkin let them know you have Taj voucher and ask them to deduct it as advance payment and remaining when checking out you can pay by cc or DC or any method. I have redeemed sevral times in jai mahal palace sawai man palace Taj west end Taj mg road at dehli too and mumbai. This year iam going g to use it again in some other states. I had also used it in Taj Club Haus chennai too.

Yes mate same Amex milestone voucher only, regardless of your location, try to call Taj Delhi/Rishikesh/Jim Corbett (find the number through Taj official website for either of those particular locations), ask them to transfer your call to the Restaurant Desk and confirm that you are planning to come for lunch/dinner on XYZ and wish to use a Taj Voucher from American Express, will it be okay ?

Your previous message insinuated that you paid only for dinner with the voucher without staying at the property at all.

I have done both. Dining and stay separately and also stayed and dined. Yes you can pay any via voucher. Once you checkin you should tell them you have voucher and ask them to redeem it and this will be like a advance payment it gets deducted what ever u consume for spa dining and stay, in case say your bill comes to 30k, the 10k will get deducted and you can pay balance or if your bill comes to just stay and you bill is 15k you pay balance 5k through cc or DC or upi upto you. I regularly do this as soon as I go I tell them I have voucher show them and they immediately redeem it and what ever I consume it gets deducted from total bill. I never had any hiccups on this once they asked is it amex taj or normal purchased from gyftr. I said I received just redeem it and they did it. It is upto them where they want to apply it for stay or food beverages or spa. I pay balance after deduction.

i have also tried to use for dining at few taj properties in mumbai and delhi....but they ask for the number and then they say not eligible for only dining....i can book a room and use it pay for the room but not for dining alone....i guess they enter the number into their system and it tells them if it is amex voucher or not...coz one of them even asked me if this voucher is amex one.
