In 2019, I opened a zero balance savings account with IndusInd Bank. However, I neglected to complete the VideoKYC process, resulting in the freezing of my account after one year. To rectify the situation, I visited the branch and completed the KYC requirements. Considering the bank's zero charges on IMPS transaction and competitive FD rates compared to other banks, I decided to actively use this account.

Last year, IndusInd Bank reached out to me with a pre-approved lifetime free credit card offer. I expressed my interest in obtaining the Pinnacle card, but due to the Mastercard ban at the time, they were unable to issue it. Instead, the bank representative convinced me to opt for the Legend card, assuring me that I could upgrade to the LTF Pinnacle once the ban was lifted, without incurring any joining fee. I agreed to this arrangement and received the Legend card, along with a complimentary Eazydiner membership.

Following that, I visited the branch and upgraded my bank account to the Select variant. However, when the ban on Mastercard was eventually lifted, I contacted the bank via email to request an upgrade to the Pinnacle card without any joining fee. To my disappointment, the bank outright denied my request and insisted on a payment of 15,000 INR + GST. Despite approaching both the Relationship Manager and the Branch Manager, they were unable to help me in this matter. Since I primarily used the card for booking movie tickets through BookMyShow, I chose not to pursue the issue any further.

This year, when IndusInd Bank devalued the card, I decided to make another attempt to upgrade. I wrote multiple emails, addressing them to various levels of authority within the bank, all the way up to the Nodal officer. However, all my efforts were in vain as they continued to deny my request. They requested any SMS, emails, or audio evidence supporting my claim, which I unfortunately did not possess. As a final resort, I lodged a complaint with the RBI Ombudsman.

Subsequently, I received an email from IndusInd Bank stating that they would convert my card to the LTF Pinnacle without any joining fee. This month, I received the upgraded card along with another complimentary Eazydiner membership. Additionally, I visited the branch this week and upgraded my Select variant savings account to the Exclusive variant. Screenshot_20230629-091333-01.jpeg

Nice. My BM said he will definitely push for LTF pinnacle if I open a Grande account. But that defeats the whole purpose of getting the card. 🤣
If you don't mind could you share a ballpark of your current NRV with IndusInd?

It is certainly possible, but don't fall for it. If your RM is unable to secure that card for you as a LTF card without any joining fees, you will be stuck with the Grande account for a while. 🤣
Yeah, and I told them it was too much of a hassle. I opened my account in May '23. Even though I have a good balance and transactions, I know that LTF is a long shot. XD
I asked for a provision of 5k+GST fee(voucher equivalent) for which they are currently seeking approval.

Until last year, around July, I maintained a balance of approximately 3-4 lakh in my account. However, since then, it has consistently hovered around 10-15k. In the last two months, I have kept the balance at zero. I no longer use this account frequently as I have shifted to ICICI and HDFC.

Furthermore, upon reviewing my card's total spending over the past year, it was below 10K. Initially, the credit card had a limit of 3 lakhs, but around October last year, they increased the credit limit by an additional 60K.
