i am trying to understand what factors might lead to having a cibil as near to 900 as possible.

i have not heard of anyone with such high scores (in my experience i have seen only people with a
around 810 max).

its not as if at entry level (no credit card, no loan) it is 900 and starts decreasing gradually. nor is it that it increases gradually till you retire. me, despite having many credit cards and extremely low utilization and timely payments, i am having the same score as someone with minimum credit cards, a few paid off loans which were always paid on time.

if anyone in this community has the score above 850, please share your insights on how you managed it, or how you planned it.

I'm curious to know the changes in the score per year. Looking at it, I might know what could have caused it to rise or fall.
For this exact reason, they have annual subscriptions...
Subscribe to them and can see everyday, why score changes... been doing that for the last 3 years or so..

Then it is definitely not because of your newly added card..

Probably, your total utlization is more compared to the last month..
It could also be the case of your total outstanding was -Ve before and it became +ve now...
A secured loan, such as a home loan, appears to have a greater positive impact on my CIBIL score, as evidenced by the increase from 787 to 797 when I used the score simulator with a new home loan offer from ICICI.

Home loan is a definite positive contributor to the CIBIL score

Mine is 789. I too want to know how can someone pulls such high score. One of my friend have only one credit card which he got 8 years back and he has a score of 800+. I have around 17 cards with no late or missed payment and oldest credit history is ~10 years. Still I am not able to cross the 800 level.
I gone to 786 n gone back to 772 now on latest check I think 4 inquiries in last 6 month was reason idk I never had missed payment too 160 payment till now on time

Guys, if the credit age is more than 5 years, the effect of enquiries on the score is very negligible..
No of enquiries is overhyped especially for accounts more than 5 years old
Just chill
