Really shocking news.

Ashwin retired from International cricket.

Similar to Dhoni who retired middle of series in Australia.

I thought some pressure from BCCI.

Ashwin definitely deserved better. He has won india more matches than anyone( may be except kumble).
Everyone around the world critiqued Ashwin's frequent ommission. Biggest tragedy was even during a time Ashwin & jaddu both batted better than all Indian batsman, only one of them could played in a match. With that many 5fer, mom, mos, he only played around 100test in 15yr long career.

Its not any pressure or forced retirement. Its just that he's senior cricketer & won many many games at home.
Issue is that he's only getting played at Home only, warming in bench for almost every overseas tour.
How he might feel? Giving everything and still sitting out on bench for 4th seamer in overseas tours & people scolding him for batting.
He got hurt in 1st as Sundar was picked over him.
Frankly who will prefer only test cricket at that age?
He can play IPL and get 10Cr and do YouTube videos peacefully.
Mindful decision

Yes he deserved well farewell. But thing is he retired at wrong time and place.
He got hurt at 1st test and decided to retire.
He should have retired on Bangladesh/Newzland tour. At home, he would have got excellent farewell. He ruined himself
