I did a payment of Rs 9660 at Apollo pharmacy and instead of charging my card, my 9660 Edge Miles were redeemed. I had an argument with Pharmacy guy. But he says, they don't have option to select points or card. Their POS machine is connected to their system and they cant access their machine directly. They can't reverse my transaction. I had been accumulating these points since few months, to redeem as air miles. It would have amounted to Rs. 19,320 as air miles. Who is at fault? Apollo or Axis Bank? Can I get my points back and charge my card? Please suggest.

I don't think Axis will help but you can certainly try contacting them. It is Apollo's fault but they will not admit. I had faced a similar issue where Blackberrys Store Manager debited my Edge Reward Points of Magnus for 3K INR at 20 paisa per point so 15000 points were gone, that was worth a lot in terms of Accor. The POS machine gives an option to redeem the points and the manager selected that without my consent. I also had an argument with the manager. He was under the impression that I would be happy for the 3k discount. LOL In short, going forward I always make sure merchants are not selecting 'yes' for the points option.

Just curious
1 Edge mile is 1 rupee
1 Edge mile transfer to which you get so much 19k worth air miles ?

Still 1 rupee straight redeem outside in shop is an good deal but let me know air miles transfer partner.

Reverse of transaction not possible once used is used

If you are planning for a trip, 1 EM can be more than 1Re. It is 3.6 Rs in terms of Accor Hotels for example

You should first buy Apollo gift voucher on Axis Giftedge for 24% return .
Then use the gift voucher at the shop

Yes many times standard chartered cards also everytime it asks merchant to choose either emi or full when swiped for more than 2000 which many merchants may choose emi by thinking that they are reducing our burden but who bare interest as well as CIBIL impact
So in my opinion it’s consumers duty to peep into the pos machine and cross check before pin input

Nothing can be done. Some other TF member also had the same issue. U can’t get it back.

Why are you swiping your card at Apollo pharmacy ???
there is no discount!
we need to buy Apollo gift vouchers and get over 24% return and then use these gift vouchers.

alternately you should buy online medicines at 25% discount on Pharmeasy or up to 70% discount for generic medicines on Zeno healthcare

You should dispute this transaction with credit card company (axis bank). Go to apollo guy and do the same payment again using a different card. This way, you will be able to prove your dispute and transaction will get reversed.
Mention the dispute reason as Paid via other means. But since there is a delay of days between these payments, I do not know if it is really possible.
For sure, Apollo company finance department can definitely reverse this transaction but it is difficult to connect with them. May be twitter support can help if available.

My pharmacy bill will amount to 10,000
Its confusing:
In GrabDeals portal, I get 10% instant discount on purchasing "Apollo Pharmacy E-Healing Card". Max 5000 Voucher. Will I get 5x points? Can I use at Pharmacy?
In Gyftr portal, I get 5x points, but need to pay full voucher amount. But, I see max 2000 voucher. If I take multiple vouchers of 2k, can I use them in single pharmacy bill?

I checked all available pharmacies and required meds are available only with apollo pharmacy.

Try connecting with axis , they should reverse the transaction and charge the card.

This is also common with Amex , the CSR resolves the issue on chat.

Called axis customer support. I asked them to re-credit the edge redwards and charge my card. But they denied saying, it's not possible.
Update: Got an email from support, not possible to reverse from their end. Only merchant can reverse, but apollo isn't doing it. Disturbing loss 🙁

Even if they reverse the transaction keep in mind 1 rupee equals 1 mile then same money will be credited to saving as money not as miles

Guys, Apollo has agreed to reverse the transaction, if I pay cash.
But I see this in T&C section: will this apply to my case?

"Redeemed rewards are not exchangeable for other rewards or refundable, replaceable or transferable for cash or credit under any circumstances, nor can these be re-converted back to EDGE REWARD Points. Once exchanged for another partner loyalty program, if any, EDGE REWARD Points cannot be transferred back".


So, if transaction is cancelled from Apollo side, will I get back my edge rewards?
Anybody has similar issue and got rewards re-credited? Please suggest.
