I opened Axis Easy Access account online thinking maintaining 5k is easier, then got know about liberty account so wanted to convert it, called phone banking and asked if it can be converted. They said it can be you need to visit branch. So I visited branch and they said it's been only 3 months since account got opened it cannot be changed to Liberty before 6 months. Felt weird so visited another big branch, there they took request and called next day saying they cannot since it's not 6 months, I said okay. Then after 6 months I went (i.e Dec end) and executive is like it can't be done in Dec since June is not counted. So I just said how many times I have to visit branch, she said we'll take request and process it in Jan. And they did it.

It's so weird to see that they can't change product varient before 6 months. First time I asked them can't you close the account and then open new, that time executive is like account cannot be closed before 12 months, I asked her why and she's like you have accepted terms and conditions of it and it's mentioned in there.

Is this just Axis being Axis?

Whatever the case or bank, how can they not close the account. Surely not giving you the full info.

Yes. I didn't wanted to fight with them, so I just waited. But i saw in some thread here saying that axis said they cannot close the account in 12 months so axis had offered to convert into basic savings account. So that person proceed with it.

They can close the account before 12 months, but that will be chargeable.
And that 6 months policy seems to be true, as two branches quoted the same🙂

I recently converted my SBSAL to SBLBR. Since its existing account migration, i am not getting welcome kit etc. For Liberty Debit card, they asked to apply online once Account got migrated.

But i dont see the option of Upgrading the debit card to Liberty.I currently have Visa Platinum Debit card. Even i don't see e-debit card option.
Any solution, do i need to visit branch?

Rather than running from pillar to post you should have closed account in first visit

Apply by calling customer care. You won't get e debit card. It is just for name sake. No benefits.
