Axis consolidated charges - what to do? 😡

i just checked my savings account and found that axis is debiting consolidated charges every quarter, without even sending a debit sms.

how do i avoid/reverse/minimize these charges?
one quarter, it was 30 rupees, another quarter, it was 2 rupees. how are they calculated?

Thanks for the reply.Could you elaborate what exactly did you write to axis?
after opening account, i didn't use the card even once as all transactions were done by me using upi and NEFT. after one year, i saw that they had charged me more than 500 plus taxes, which i didn't know is chargeable. so i asked them to cancel. they first refused, saying that debit card is essential, etc. then i wrote this reason that i dont want to pay for a card that i am never going to use, to pno. a person called from their office, i explained the same thing again. thy cancelled the card and reversed the charges in 14 days. emailed to pno@axisbank.com

so I complained to rbi ombudsman, and axis reversed my charges for this month. but my complaint was about axis not deactivating sms charges online and asking me to visit branch for this small thing. despite complaint to rbi, axis has maintained it's stand that i will have to visit the branch personally for sms deactivation.

i have decided that the only time i visit the branch will be when I close my account. but i am waiting for a few FDs to mature. till then, I have a few questions about how to minimize these charges:

1. are these charges fixed, or do they depend on how many sms we receive per month? in that case, if i make less transactions from my axis account, i will receive lesser transaction sms and hence less charges?

2. do sms charges also include otp messages for credit cards?

I wasn't even aware that SMS charges can be stopped in banks like Axis which are known for all sorts of hidden charges. For me the two PSU banks where also I have absolutely have failed to stop SMS charges deduction are Central Bank and Canara Bank. Both take ₹68 per year (₹17 per quarter).

Axis has another shitty charge that they don't tell you about upfront. Not sure if other banks also levy this charge and not tell you about it upfront.

I was charged 150+27(GST) for making a cheque based cash withdrawal for 50k from a non home branch. That's around 0.35% charges just to withdraw my money from the bank itself.

Even while making the withdrawal I was not told about this. It took them 2 f*#king hours to give me the cash, I just went with the cheque based withdrawal because I was feeling lazy to make 5 ATM for 10k each transactions. Never Again. And I'm thier so called Family Banking Priority client.

Their ATMs allow 20k one shot withdrawals, got to know about it later. Next time I wanted to withdraw 1L, I was in and out from the ATM in 10 mins with 5 txns.

1. It is fixed charge, not dependent on no. of txns.
2. No, OTP is a mandate from RBI, they can't charge you for sending messages to make txns.

Yes, what other messages are you paying them for man? 😛
No they dont charge anything for now as I have a priority account with them..But this question is in general for all banks ? Do they even stop credit debit msgs also ? Other msgs can be promotional msgs alerts etc
