You can make use of aeroplan/united for air india flights. Generally useful if you are booking a week in advance. For example, i booked blr-jodhpur for 12.5k using aeroplan, revenue was 11k. It was a very good deal for me.

Yes Club Vistara routes are best in metro only
No connection to tier 2 cities
Air India has great potential to cover all incl international travel

that was till january apparently, post that they have increased the TAT to 40-45 days
