Bank of Baroda enabled virtual debit cards for BOB BRO and BOB LITE VARIANTS

My Wife is NTB, can Mahila Shakti be opened online. On BoB website I can see ut can be opened via vKYC but would it let me choose the debit card during application?
In BOB, its always better to first open the account first without debit card and then apply desired debit card via MB/IB or offline mode.

Do not take risk of opting for debit card even if you open it via online mode.

Ok followup ques

1. Will I be able to register for MB/NB without DC? If not it defeats the whole purpose of avoiding branch visit.

2. While online opening, at which point do I have to confirm account code? Does it let me choose at some step?
 
I had an old BoB Account as a kid which was closed in 2020 with Internet and Mobile Banking.

Last week on 2/4 I opened BoB Lite online got the sms account opened with CIF ID and Account Number nothing about Internet Banking.

Next day 3/4 went to branch gave request for Internet Banking in the evening Internet Banking got activated tried to activate mobile banking in Internet banking and got the error already linked to different customer Id. When I opened the app it automatically took my old customer Id and asked for login PIN which when I entered logged in to app.

Contacted support they said I have to visit branch to resolve issue. Also tried generating virtual card which was not getting generated threw error

Yesterday 5/4 visited branch again told them about the issue with mobile banking. They first deactivated Internet banking then mobile banking. This time when I tried to register via mobile phone it asked for new account number and debit card which meant old account/customer Id was removed from my mobile number.

Now when I logged in to Internet banking for new account it showed no account have linked to User ID immediately told the staff this. They again reactivated the User ID and it was fine. I tried generating Virtual Card again still not possible error was getting thrown and when I told them they said it might be issue in back end.

Yesterday evening I came back home logged in to Internet Banking and tried to activate mobile banking it showed mobile banking activated and I received sms with activation code. I tried registering mobile using sms for my mobile number this time instead of asking account number and debit card it asked for activation code I got as sms which when I entered it asked to set mPin and Transaction PIN and then logged in to app.

So mobile banking was now working fine. Now I tried to request virtual debit card through App and this time it got generated successfully. With the help of this card I tried to set UPI in PhonePe that was successful also. I also gave a request for cheque book yesterday waiting for it to arrive. Will update when I receive it.

So all in all you can create a new BoB Lite Account if previously you had a BoB account and have closed it. However most likely the old customer ID would be linked to your mobile number so you would need to visit branch to remove the linked customer ID also sometimes you need to go for activating Internet Banking also.

So started BoB lite application on 02/04 and everything is working on 05/04 after 2 visits to branch once for activating NetBanking and the other to delink old Customer ID from the mobile number
