Upgraded to HDFC Imperia and faced the same issue of no locker available. After multiple followups with RM and BM,getting responses of no locker availability and suggestions of allotting locker against deposits, was allotted a wait list number. Waited for 6 months and followed up with Imperia support email mentioning the waitlist number and escalating against the responses above, I was called to branch for allocation of locker. There also the Branch officials were mentioning locker was not available and finally after I let them no about the call and BM came out and handed over the locker keys.

My parents have a locker in our HDFC branch because they applied years ago. It's pretty hard to get one now, I'm still on the "waiting list".

Didn't really push for it more since I got one in ICICI instead

Anyone got locker with HDFC recently? Do they lien the security FD amount with the locker? Or we can break the amount after we got the locker?

I have:
Free Large size locker with HDFC Imperia account
Free Large size locker with Yes Private account
Free Medium size locker with IndusInd Pioneer account

You are right, getting a locker of your choice (size & location) is very difficult.

At Yes Bank, my RM was completely useless inspite of being a "Senior Vice President and Partner", whatever that means. I had to personally visit 3-4 nearby branches and talk to the BMs. All of them outrightly denied availability of lockers. Most of them were also not aware what a Yes Private account is. I had to write to their grievance redressal team and was finally able to get a large size locker at my preferred branch after multiple emails, calls and threats of complaining to the ombudsman. However, it was all worth it when I walked in and saw the embarrassed face of the same BM who had laughed at my request for a locker and had said "400 se upar waitlist chal rahi hai, 5 saal mein bhi aapka number nahi aayega"

Same story with HDFC bank. They were offering small lockers only. I had to personally find and get someone from their Private Banking team involved. Only then was I given a large locker.

Everything went smoothly at IndusInd Bank though. But that happened only because I negotiated for a locker before opening my savings account with them. The BM offered two free medium sized lockers to me and my wife. He requested for an initial cheque of 10L each, which I obliged.
Could you please provide a rough idea of the TRV you have with Yes Bank and HDFC?

I was lucky got a HDFC locker in newly opened branch without any hussle, they just requested for 5 lakhs FD of more than 1 year duration which i did.
For free?
This thread seems to be about free lockers.
In smaller towns and new branches, they will offer lockers easily.
My father has a zero balance account in IDBI Bank and was still offered 50% discount for a 1L in FD. We didn't need it, so didnt take it
