  • HDFC : Milestone benefits only ✅

  • ICICI AmazonPay: 1%
Note: Mostly other cards from same bank works with varied reward rate and similar rule of exclusion.

For NPS payments MCC: 9399 (Govt. Services)

Do check both payment gateways Razorpay and Billdesk (above values are according to Billdesk gateway).

Also, do share missing cards rewards that you tried, will update accordingly.

PG Charges (with GST) on NPS website/app:
  • VISA, Mastercard & AMEX = 0.885% (0.75% + GST)
Note: Above are for TIER 1. TIER 2 disabled credit card payments (based on latest available options).

Edit: Got a refund of ₹12 from NPS to Payzapp wallet on next day.
So net outgo for payment of ₹1000 to NPS is ₹1007.5. Now this is profitable. If wallet is loaded with 2% CB, 0.75% is surcharge by NPS. Net profit is 1.25%.
For me too, they charged 1.93% from payzapp wallet, albeit in two instances 0.75% while making the payment and simultaneously 1.18% separate SMS. However in payzapp full amount including 1.93% shows up as a single transaction.

I just hope that they refund 1.18% in a day or two, just the way they did for you.

I think you will get the refun tomorrow. Do update here

I read through this thread and am summarizing the findings here, someone please confirm if this is correct?

  • Amex MRCC: Only gets the 20k milestone benefit on NPS?
  • Amex Gold Charge: 1 RP / 50 plus milestone (can do in 6 transactions for the 1k*6 benefit)?
  • DCB: Only fee waiver milestone spends?
