Best PSU bank for online account opening process

Hi TFians,

In your experience, which PSU bank has a quick, hassle free and smooth savings account opening process? I am from a metro city and I already hold ICICI, HDFC, Indie, Indian Bank and CUB accounts.
Depends on what you are looking for ..

After SBI, BOB is much bigger PSU bank with wide range of product suites and well penetrated into the market... There are many other PSU banks which may be suitable for specific needs..
but overall I will go with BOB if I want to open an account in a PSU bank.. in my view..

What’s the lowest MAB account I can open in BOB? Also, can I get paid rupay select dc for their lowest MAB variant too? Like in Canara bank?

Lowest mab is zero. Bro and lite accounts etc. but if you maintain like 3k in lite account you will get zero charges rupay platinum debit card. For rupay select you need atleast bob advantage or higher variant account

Post COVID if branch opens through tab
It's instant account

1- canara bank ( offline and online both easy )
2- sbi ( online)
3- BOB ( online )
4- pnb - bad
5- union - bad
6- boi - if via tab good

My take is to go for SBI if you are not looking for any particular benefits.

And open via branch. They hardly take 15-20 minutes to activate the account and netbanking(faster than opening online)

Otherwise BoB is good as well if you want RPDC or Select DC

Explain Bob account and rupay select
Open Super Saver Account online (20k MAB). You'll get RuPay Select card first year free. In addition, you can apply for Sapphire debit card (also FYF) from the BoB world app or by visiting branch. BTW BoB RuPay Select comes with all wellness benefits and is NCMC complaint. Comes handy on occasional metro rides.
