BOB Credit Card Approval: My Card-to-Card Application Journey!

I wanted to share my recent experience of applying for a BOB Credit Card using the card-to-card method. Here's how it went:

I called the credit card representative at my BOB Home branch and inquired about applying for a BOB credit card through the C2C method without requiring physical verification.
C2C Criteria:
Minimum 1-year-old CC with 1L limit. I used my ICICI Apay Card with 4.2L which is 1 yr 10 months old.
Application Timeline: Application Date (10/01/2025) -> Document Required (13/01/2025) & I uploaded the doc same day -> Got Verification Call (16/01/2024) -> Card Approved (17/01/2025) (Limit 1L) -> Card Generated (19/01/2025) -> Delivered via Speed Post (24/01/2025)
BOB Snapdeal Rupay LTF Offer - > 05/02/2025 - > Virtual Card Generated (05/02/2025)
TAT: 14 Days
Documents Required:
All Soft Copy(PDF) sent via WhatsApp
  • Last Month's Card Statement
  • Aadhaar card
  • PAN card
  • A passport-size photo
  • The last 3 months Bank Statement asked for via email on 13th Jan

I have been holding the BOB Super Savings Account since September of last year.

The representative filled in all the details on their application portal. They didn't ask me anything regarding my income to fill in the basic details only the office address was asked. All other details were taken from the account.
After completing the initial formalities, she asked me which card I wanted. I said I only wanted a LTF card let's see what the bank is offering then I will decide.
  • Select: Chargeable
  • Premier: Chargeable
  • Easy: LTF
Since I already have cards with higher rewards and value, I chose the Easy(Visa Variant) LTF Card. My primary reason for applying for a BOB credit card was to avail the fantastic offers that BOB cards provide these days, instant discounts, and to get the Snapdeal Rupay Card LTF and Premier/Eterna LTF in the future.

Why did I select BOB Easy?

  • LTF
  • No Physical Verification
  • Only on-call verification (The only question asked was to confirm the card delivery address and nothing else)
  • Easy Approval
  • The primary objective is to get Snapdea Rupay LTF(Pre approved) within a few months and after 1 year will try to upgrade the card to LTF Premier/LTF Eterna
Why the process doesn't require any physical verification or quite less rejection?
  • Agent submits a physical form along with the digital application which shows the credibility of the customer.
  • My IDFC Bank statement played an important role for sure, MAB is more than 1.8L, and transactions ranged around 4.2L in the last 3 months.
  • BOB account also might have helped not sure maintaining around 24K.
  • Some complications occurred with the office address it was changed by the agent on the same day of application.
Fun Fact: They did a limit check of 50K at the time of application in my Cibil and gave me a 1L limit.

Update: I finally received the Snapdeal Virtual LTF offer within 18 days of obtaining the Easy LTF card.

If your BOB Card Application was rejected last time then wait for a minimum of 1 year before reapplying.

I had the worst journy to bob card. So few years ago I applied for bob eterna and before verification agent came the infamous devaluation kicked in so when agent called I simply told I don't want the card anymore. Then after a year my wife's bob savings acct was linked to same phone number then she had applied for a bob card via branch as this was her first cc and 0 cibil card was declined so I emailed on behalf of her that I (she) had applied for fd backed card but agent processed unsecured card , requesting to approve fd back card, ( she had a 1L fd in her bob savings acct) and within 2 days of email I got reply that bob easy card approved with 15k limit (unsecured). Later I changed her bank and cc linked phone number to her personal number.

Fast forwarding to 2025 now about a month ago I decided to get bob eterna rupay but I couldn't apply the card via online process and error saying can't get additional cc ( wife's card was linked to my phone number that why) even though I changed her cc linked mobile number, system didn't delete my number, so I email crm@bobcard.in about this and after few pan removal and all email customer care finally couldn't solve the issue so told me to change savings acct phone number then apply from that different number so I got a new number and changed savings acct number, this time I talked to branch cc agent and I feared my normal application might get declined as I have like 30 credit cards. Now a days all my cc applications getting rejected citing over leveraged issue.only fd backed cc I'm able to get but agent told 12L fd can help approving application and I can break the fd once card approved so I did and agent applied the card but after like 15 days got msg that application declined ( as expected and my only hope is fd based card) so I called the agent that application declined and apply me fd based cc he told 2.5L fd lien karke hoga means can't break fd as long as cc is active so next day went to him doing 2 .5L fd and he processed the application again , yesterday got application number and cibil checked (my cibil 788 doesn't matter though) let's see what happens card gets approved or not.

Oh and my plan is after cc approval I'll change again (savings and cc) to my primary phone number and dispose of the new phone number.

Yeah it should get approved. Oh and agent told to apply ad on for wife even though I told him she has a cc agent told she will get another don't worry so gave wife's photo and pan xerox too let's see ad on gets approved too or not. If approves then rupay select benefits from 2 cards 🪙🪙🪙🤩

Also, please note that you can not close the FD against which a secured CC has been issued....unless they change the secured CC into an unsecured CC (which is less likely after 1 or 2 months)

Yes that's how I got federal, pnb,canara and few other cards via fd

I have finally got the Tiara card applied for her today. Tier 2 city + small branch + PSU bank -> Hence the process took long..... will share the timeline journey once we get the approve/declien decision.

Application:
- Shared Pan, unmasked Aadhar, BOB bank details (non-salary, avg balance 10-20K), last 1 month Airtel Axis CC statement (limit 3 Lakh).
- No income documents were asked as he insisted he would apply as "existing branch customer". From the checklist shared by @TrueColours, I believe it would be same - Branch Relationship Value. Info Updated - refer the last line
- The branch guy was facing some problem in the application since last few days - so he got it done through Regional office POC.
- Since, I was physically not present there (had discussed and shared the docs with him in the last week itself)....not sure what other things/forms he used.
- In the application form, I see that they have applied under Salaried category only with genuine income value (which is more than Tiara criteria, rather than showing her as Self Employed).
- In the document scan section -> Under bank statement, i can see the airtel axis statement. I'm still not sure if the application is based on Existing relation or C2C or mix of both.
- Regional office lady was mentioning that she can apply for Eterna also, but she insisted for Tiara. She also mentioned the verification call could come in around 10 days.

Will update the post once I receive more details.

Update 1: The Regional office lady asked for 3 months salary account statement and last 2 months payslips as well the next day. Coordinated over whatsapp only, no formal mail.
Approval journey:
Card applied: 14 Feb
Salary slip asked : 15 Feb
No verification call, no office/home verification.
Followed up multiple time with branch/RO person for verification call. Dropped a mail at CRM asking status, escalated their reply specifically asking for TAT for card application processing on 1 march
Approval status on website: 3 March

yet to receive any other details.
