My Experience with Bank of Baroda

I had a very strange, yet surprisingly positive, experience with the Bank of Baroda.

I applied for an Advantage Savings Account online on October 28th. I didn’t apply for a debit card at that time, as I wanted the EMT Debit Card instead.

I completed the vKYC the same day around 4:30–5:00 PM, and it went smoothly. Around 7:30–8:00 PM, I received an SMS stating that my account had been opened. I also received my CIF and account number.

However, I was unable to log in to Internet Banking — it said “invalid CIF” or something similar. I checked on Technofino, and someone mentioned that the CIF serves as the Internet Banking User ID, but the confirmation email needs to arrive first.

Around 11:00 PM, I received the email, tried logging in again, and successfully accessed Internet Banking using the same CIF/User ID. I also registered and started using the BoB World app without any issues.

Inside the app, I could see several debit card options, including Opulence, Visa Signature (Male), and RuPay EMT. I applied for the RuPay EMT card around 3:00 AM on October 29th. I didn’t receive any confirmation SMS or email at that time.

The next day, on October 30th, the card started showing up in the BoB World app around 12:00 PM. Later that day, I received a message from India Post stating that the card had been dispatched.

And then, to my surprise — as everyone had told me it usually takes around 15 days to receive the card — the very next day (today, October 31st) around 12:30 PM, the postman called me, and I received the card!

P.S. The card was dispatched from Vashi,Mumbai (PIN 400703) and delivered to my address in Delhi — in just one day!
