Devaluation Bookmyshow Super Star Membership & RBL Play Card and (Bookmyshow Superstar Membership Discontinued)

Hi Everyone!

I am or should I say I was a Superstar Member of BookmyShow as I have booked 10 movie tickets in a year.

I am also holding RBL Play Card from last two years and as per T&C mentioned in the BMS app & RBL bank offical website, If a cardholder is a Superstar member in a calendar year, the annual fees will not be charged in that year.

But from last few months I was unable to see the Superstar bedge on the BookmyShow even after booking more than 10 movie tickets. Because of this I have contacted the BookmyShow's X (twitter) 15/12/2024 and today I got the response that "BookmyShow Superstar Membership has been discontinued".

So this means that there is no option left to waive annual fees of RBL Play Card. I have to send 1.50 Lakhs annually to get the waiver?

spending 5k a month will earn you 600 rupees (500 Movie + 100 Food coupon). So my thought is it is ok to pay 499+gst annual charges. I have two RBL play cards (mine and my wife's). I spend exactl 5k on each card to earn movie voucher. So we see two free movies every month

what actually you spend. paying rent/utilities considered?

Confirmed with cc. The card will become a paid card at the next renewal since BMS closed the superstar program.

I hope another bank partners with Zomato's District app and brings back similar offer as a 😝 to BookMyShow. Achieving 1.5L now to waive off Play card's fees would be difficult. Earlier all we had to do was be a part of SuperStar program

It currently is ltf because your of your current status. But one BMS superstar status resets, there is no way to achieve superstar status again as they've closed the program.

You can definitely keep the card till it's next calendar year, but at that point they will probably charge you for it.

The BMS superstar program has been discontinued everywhere.

Thanks. I saw this thread in time. I had completed VKYC on 20th Dec. Yet to receive the card. Will not activate the card and let it close automatically.
Have pocketed the ₹200 BMS voucher for VKYC anyway 😉
