Burgundy Private Card vs Magnus for Burgundy Card

uchitshah

TF Select
VIP Lounge
Hello,

Monthly Expenditure around 1.2 lac
Few months more than 1.5 lac also

I already have a Maugus for Burgundy Card (M4B) with a very decent limit.

I am been upgraded to Private and I have option to opt for Burgundy Private Card (BP) or they call it as Axis One Card. This will also be LTF.

What is the added benefit I will get?

I am never going to use golf benefits.

Lounge is already free unlimited times via. M4B also.

M4B gives 12 ER for 200 Rs
And 35 ER for 200 Rs (Above 1.5 lac per statement) Accelerated Rewards.

BP gives 20 ER for 200 Rs (even above 1.5 lac also same rewards)

I am seriously confused, should I opt for BP Card, it's not about being lifetime free, it is about what added benefit I can get out of it, it does give me few membership of few hotels

Can anyone who has BP Card tell me about any added benefit they found useful with this card?

But im wondering if it really worth?
Doing all this juglary ,
What else we get other than one card ?
I think if it aligns with your spending pattern and you're a BP customer without having to try hard, meaning, your existing relationship already makes you eligible, then better to just use this than a combination of M4B, Atlas, Reserve, Olympus, etc. Will make life easier. I'm juggling some 5 cards now.

I would always like to keep limited card portfolio.

M4B and BP, is more then enough for me from axis, too many cards are not worth it.

Go for BP(Axis One Card)!!
Axis will give BP (blood pressure)

@uchitshah I have two more questions. Are you sure about Burgundy Private credit card giving 20 ER per 200 spent? Because wherever I'm reading, it says 15 reward points per 200 spent. If that is the case, the equation changes. The breakeven point will become 172500 instead of 230000. Also does BP card give 5x in traveledge?

It has always been 15 per 200. It was never 20 per 2000

20 per 200 only Axis Select gives on select categories upto 20k expense per month

Oh! I got confused because in the original post, it was mentioned 20 per 200. Is there any document says what all categories give 20 per 200?

Even for whole family maintaining 5cr without dmat is tough and not a good idea
Even Demat is annoying as Axis does not offer direct plans. So you're losing money keeping 5cr for no reason.

Also, BP no longer accepts demat balance as of last month, so you need to have money in MF or PMS.

They tried to sell me on PMS for BP, but again the tax liabilities are a nightmare.

Only way BP makes some amount of sense is if you're keeping a quarter of your family's liquid NV in FDs. Otherwise its just poor financial planning.

I can maybe justify a higher TER if the soft benefits are worth it (but that's subjective to every individual's needs). Dealing with taxes for no reason is something I cannot justify. Its just fucking absurd.

Yes sir, you are right my mistake.
It's 15 ER for 200 rs
And no accelerater rewards post 1.5 lacs spend in a Statement.
No 5x reward on Travel Edge.

I have drop my plan to get Burgundy Private, I am happy using Magnus for Burgundy.

Yeh I understand you concern.

But we easily meeting it's eligibilty criteria with MF, PPF, Saving Balance and FD across all family account.

But as per above post, I have drop my plan to get Burgundy Private Card only completely.

So irrespective of meeting the criteria, I am happy being it's priority customer.

As such all our needs are taken care on our one call to the RM, so happy in that matter.

Burgundy Private not worth it, bus show baazi hai. 😁😁
