Any branch works. I have salary account with one branch and savings max account with a different branch. No issues at all.

When you upgraded your card to platinum debit.. did hdfc charged you with issuance fees?
Also did you upgraded online through mobile app?

Once bank employee confirmed me that my account is upgraded, I asked how can I get Platinum debit card. He asked me to open hdfc mobile app and asked me to first block existing debit card and then apply for Platinum card. I asked him, I don't have proof that my account is SavingsMax. All I see in my netbanking is just Savings account so what if I will be charged for annual fee for this Platinum debit card. He said I will not be charged as I placed request after account upgraded.
Till now I am not charged for debit card fee yet or any issuance fee. Its now around 3 months since I got Platinum debit card.

Can u tell how u applied for platinum card in mobile App

Presently i can see two options

1.Block current debit card
2.Upgrade current card to platinum ,Millinea etc

I don't remember now but I think it should be "Upgrade Card" after blocking existing card. Its only one time I did steps as guided by bank employee.

Okay i gave paper Friday...they told it will be processed on Monday and by Wednesday my account will be upgraded..I have to wait till it upgraded.But confusion part is we can't see Savings max type acount in mobile App or net banking

Then go to bank on Thursday. Check with them whether your account has been upgraded or not. If they say its upgraded then you can follow the process to get Platinum DC.

Okay, i just upgraded few days ago and wanted to confirm will i be charged or not, incase they deduct amount i will tell them you can't charge me as its lifetime free.

Ask them on email what is type of account and i did the same

You can check the account is Max savings anytime by downloading the account statement. The product code will be 193 for it.
