Can i upgrade to max saving account online by myself instantly or need to visit branch only?

You can check the account is Max savings anytime by downloading the account statement. The product code will be 193 for it.

Once bank employee confirmed me that my account is upgraded, I asked how can I get Platinum debit card. He asked me to open hdfc mobile app and asked me to first block existing debit card and then apply for Platinum card. I asked him, I don't have proof that my account is SavingsMax. All I see in my netbanking is just Savings account so what if I will be charged for annual fee for this Platinum debit card. He said I will not be charged as I placed request after account upgraded.
Till now I am not charged for debit card fee yet or any issuance fee. Its now around 3 months since I got Platinum debit card.

Nothing is charged except IMPS in day to day life txns & cash related txns

No they don't charge I have saving max account account since 6 month and turned on insta alert for both SMS and Email

What if I get upgrade to classic account n in case doesn't maintain 1 lac balance will it downgrade to saving max again or to a basic saving account?
Also, as right now I have basic platinum debit card after upgrading to classic do I necessary need to upgrade basic platinum card to class platinum debit, as basic platinum might get charged or can I keep basic platinum card?

• I think it may or may not downgrade after 90 days if 1L not maintained (Officially it should downgrade after 90 days with multiple email alerts before downgrading, but sometimes it doesn't downgrade).
• If in case u first upgrade to classic & don't maintain 1L, it'll downgrade to the variant which u initially opened. (In ur case, Savings Max)
• U won't be charged for basic platinum even if u upgrade to classic & don't upgrade ur DC, as ur account variant is Savings Max & all DCs are LTF.

My Advice:
If u are going to maintain 1L, upgrade to Classic & upgrade ur DC too.

If u aren't going to maintain 1L, still upgrade to Classic but don't upgrade ur DC as it might become in case ur account downgrades to Savings Max (As all 4 Platinum DC Variants are same in terms of benefit with just minor change in insurance coverage)
