Can NRIs close SBI PPF Account fully..?

Hi Friends,
I am NRI, I see my PPF account will be matured in 2029 and I checked that currently I can only partially withdraw funds.
Is there anyway I can close the PPF account fully without waiting till 2029.
Pls suggest what best can be done

I think there is a provision to withdraw all money if your status is changed to NRI. My cousin faced the same issue and he got all his money back upon visiting the PPF desk of SBI and providing relevant proof. He also has money in NSC, which he has not been able to withdraw prematurely. PPF was easy to close.
