Cheapest ICICI savings account for Rupay platinum DC

Is it then also possible to have a still valid existing LTF card replaced by a Rupay card (LTF) without any replacement charges?
.
ICICI RuPay Platinum Debit Card issuance is free for all saving accounts, including all basic/normal saving accounts too.

ICICI also dnt charge any replacement fee. Just apply RuPay Platinum DC and your old card will auto blocked after few days or after 1 month.

ICICI customer care has informed me that RuPay debit cards are free only when it's the original card on an account, but it is chargeable (replacement fee + annual fee) if asked for as a replacement for an existing (even if LTF) debit card!

Yes
That's why I first blocked my existing card permanently then applied for RuPay Platinum card via customer care.
This way it is FYF for me (not sure its FYF bcz I am a privilege customer or it is as is)

ICICI customer care always give wrong info. No annual charges for salary accounts and no issuance fee.

We have been applying here since 2020.

You will find a lot of discussions on the forum about the ICICI RuPay Platinum debit card. So far, no charges have been applied to salary and premium savings account holders.

Which ICICI salary account you have ?

Let me know if the charges have been deducted from the account or not. Ignore what customer care informed.

If the amount has been debited from the salary account, let me know.

Just a few weeks ago, we also discussed this here -

Is Privilege (original kind) a premium account?

Also, RuPay replacement of an existing card doesn't attract a replacement fee?

What happens if I block my existing card first? Would they even issue a new card again (a RuPay one) in its stead, that too free of cost ? If so, how do I get it without involving the customer care? Branch visit necessary? Thanks.

For normal/regular ICICI saving accounts - Just call ICICI bank and apply RuPay debit card, when you use first time your RuPay debit card (e-com transaction), after few days your old card will get auto blocked and disappeared from your account.

No issuance fee will charge.

ICICI only charge annual fee from your bank account opening date or first debit card issuance date.

For example - if ICICI debits your annual debit card fee every year in January or February month and you apply for the RuPay Platinum debit card this month (December, 2024), then ICICI will charge you the annual debit card fee in January or February of next year, 2025. However, if ICICI debits the annual fee every year in November month (which I am assuming the annual fee would have been already deducted by now), then if you apply RuPay Platinum debit card this month (December, 2024), ICICI will charge you the next annual debit card fee in November 2025.

I hope you understood from the example that there is no issuance fee, only an annual fee is charged.

Now, if we talk about ICICI salary accounts and some premium savings accounts, both the issuance fee and the annual fee are free for RuPay Platinum debit card.

Now, I’m not sure which premium savings accounts offer this lifetime free. Some people here mentioned that annual fees are not charged on certain savings accounts, like someone mentioned that the Wealth Savings Account doesn’t have an annual fee for RuPay Platinum debit card.
