Dear TF Family,

1. Infinia Void. I have Infinia Metal credit card, but it does not offer RPs on fuel transactions. As I do have substantial fuel transactions, therefore, there was a felt need to plug this void. Accordingly, I homed on to BPCL SBI Octane credit card which is offering maximum rewards of 6.25% on all fuel transactions (7.25% if you factor in the fuel surcharge waiver) at BPCL outlets, and some additional benefits.

2. Comprehensive Guide on BPCL SBI Octane Credit Card. During my research on Octane credit card, I came across numerous blogs, articles, forums, et al discussing the features of Octane credit card. Want to share a story on SBI BPCL OCTANE card i used in kolkata on 2 different pump one was BPCL COCO pump at alipore near zoo i spend 1050rs transaction settle as 1060.50 and 10.50 surcharge wavier was given second i used it at bpcl pump near joys bike point spend 2050 transaction settle as 2074.19 which is 1.18% and wavier was 20.50 rs gst was taken on that transaction. i have found that when ever i go the bpcl COCO they dont charge the tax .

yes both are pinelabs i have found that only that bpcl coco pump doesnot charges tax elese every bpcl charges that 0.18% tax as it should be because it was a coco pump i think they dont charge

18% tax on surcharge depends on petrol pump and pos machine.

I purchased petrol fom the 2nd fuel pump in Jan. Paytm pos machine. It charged flat ₹10 as surcharge on fuel amount ₹505 (Not 1%) + 18% tax on surcharge. Name showed in sbi app was ARINDAM DEY.

At the same pump in December end, swiped in phonepe pos machine. Amount ₹505. Only 5.05 charged as surcharge and also reversed. No 18% tax. Name in sbi was HARI SADHAN SERVICE.

If you again visit the pump ask for phonepe pos machine.

better for me is the alipore pump they are company owned service very good service just 500 meter from home and that hari sadhan service is written on the slip and on sbi app its arindam dey strange

"No accelerated RPs for MCCs under Departmental Stores (MCC 5311), Grocery Stores
(MCC 5411) for merchants - Metro Cash & Carry and Walmart, Dining (MCC 5812,
MCC 5813, MCC 5814) and Movies/Entertainment (MCC 7832, MCC7922"

So the above mentioned mcc codes don't give 2.5%?
Recently I had swiped my bob premier at a restaurant. Got no RPs. Asked bob, they told it's mcc was 5814 which is in excluded category for bob - Fast food restaurants. But it was not a fast food joint.

Seems octane also won't give RPs at this restaurant

At some places its written we get 10x RPs on departmental stores and grocery. and other places MCC 5311 and 5411 are not accepted. Can anyone please clarify? Will we get 10x RPs on Dmart and Reliance Smart expenditures?

For Reliance smart, Jio mart I got 10X. (UPI and POS both).
Don't know about Dmart. But I think it will reflect 10X as it's departmental store.
