Devaluation Alert: Google Pay starts charging convenience fee for bill payments

As far as I know, this fee was only applicable to mobile recharges until now. Just five days ago, I paid an electricity bill using the same card, and there was no such fee included. However, today, while paying another bill, I noticed this fee being applied. 0.75% + GST.

I missed to ask this when I closed my axis ace. The customer care person said he will change to myzone ltf card for which I was not interested

no cutomer care can't give it LTF

Just closed the ACE card this week. Customer Care was least bothered about me shutting down ACE card as they did not eve try to retain me. Though that might be due to Me holding Axis Neo and Myzone as LTF... Now which one should I close next and which Axis card should I get??

I have SBI CB and Tata Neu Infinity. So Ace turned useless since last year. Only use case was offline 1.5%. Tata fullfills that.. I will look into Axis CB if they offer LTF

Edit: Okay, Just checked Axis CB. Its preety Useless if you have literally any other CB card.. There are DC which give better reward rate on some category.. Only place where it can be used is Grocery shopping, which can be taken care of by Neu or APay...

It's not only for telecom bro , few days ago there is no charges.

But when I tried to book LPG gas it's showing me convenience fees 7.50 + GST on 830 payment 😕 They should consider for their co branded card , but they also charged for Ace. It's not good, somedays ago they also implant monthly 25000 utility bill payment is free, then they charge 1% + GST.


Make a calculation,

LPG bill: 829.5
Convenience fees: 7.5
Cashback ( 5%) : 41.5
Profit: 41.5 -7.5 = 34

Gpay remove inconvenience fees and platform fee for Ace card using on gpay.. tried today.

Again GPay asking convence fees for LPG bill payment today, Today I login gpay with new mobile they asking convence fees and put otp automatically. Don't redirect to billpay .
