I believe every name which the British or the mughal invaders gave must be trashed and the former name should be used. Even by the locals who grew "fine" or started "feeling appropriate".Vizagapatnam is one of the orignal names of this city, vizag is just short for it, commonly used by locals
I'm not much into labeling "colonial mindset", changing names for decolonisation or localisation, etc
I think whatever name locals feel appropriate and accurate should be used, regardless of who named it, the british, the mughals, regional kings, indigenous tribes, etc
Lol. I Agree. But vizaqupatnam, vizaq is from the times before BriteshI believe every name which the British or the mughal invaders gave must be trashed and the former name should be used. Even by the locals who grew "fine" or started "feeling appropriate".
Bro..sorry to say but all these tactics are diverting mind from real issues...We should be forward looking to grow in life.I believe every name which the British or the mughal invaders gave must be trashed and the former name should be used. In my native I used to buy Dosa batter from a shop it was 18rs a packet in 2017/18 yesterday bought it for 50rs a packetThis will become price hike epidemic. US and Europe already suffers from it, I remember days in 2011 in Germany you could get Pizza full 12" inch at 2.5 Euro, now same restaurant have same pizza at 13 Euro. Inflation is not that high in Europe but it increased due to delivery apps taking cuts/fees and stuff.
Rs 14,000 crore: How much it could cost to rename India to Bharat
Darren Oliver, an intellectual property lawyer based in South Africa, came up with a calculative method to measure renaming of a nation, when Swaziland was renamed to Eswantini to do away with colonial imprint.www.deccanherald.com
"the renaming of Allahabad cost the state government upwards of Rs 300 crore, citing sources in the finance department."
I reckon there are better ways to spend money for the sake of the country
How many of us even people who stay in Bengaluru type it so? Its either Bangalore or Bnglr for almost 90% of the people and I dont want to know how many crores they spent for that renamingI believe every name which the British or the mughal invaders gave must be trashed and the former name should be used. I understand your angst, but it's the question of the identiy itself. I'm a tax paying citizen and would want to rename all the places named after or by invaders. Even at the high expense. Why would one want to belong to a city named Aurangabad, Ahmednagar or Allahabad??I have tried Swiggy Dineout, Zomato Dining and ED in Bangalore and Chennai have never faced this issue till date.

Just renaming for renaming's sake should be stopped. Like renaming for change in spelling when pronunciation is sameI understand your angst, but it's the question of the identiy itself. Yes.. ur right.. only 10%.. better to use eazy diner in this caseInfinia discount on dineout reduced to 10% upto 500?? Last month was able to use twice at 15% upto 1000
Dineout as it is since swiggy has taken over gone for a toss whereas EazyDiner has improved in terms of tie-ups and discounts. I am using combination of EazyDiner and magicpin for the time being.Infinia discount on dineout reduced to 10% upto 500?? Last month was able to use twice at 15% upto 1000
how is maginpin providing better discount than swiggy/zomatoDineout as it is since swiggy has taken over gone for a toss whereas EazyDiner has improved in terms of tie-ups and discounts. I am using combination of EazyDiner and magicpin for the time being.
Currently magicpin has less network than Dineout/Zomato/Eazydiner but compensates for the same by providing lucrative discount coupons on these establishments. Such coupons can be obtained through limited time deal purchase, scratch cards obtained from performing transactions, etc. Moreover such offers can be double dipped through choosing the best rewarding card while paying for them.how is maginpin providing better discount than swiggy/zomato
nopes, never faced any such issue so far, its not norm for sure, may be some less known restaurants try to cheat dineout and customersI keep visiting restaurants for my business meetings...Recently, i observed that many restaurants started keeping 2 different menu cards i.e. one for direct walk-ins and second for discount seekers i.e. those who book through any app.
I booked a restaurant through eazydiner and i was offered a menu card (Red color) with inflated prices. Next time, i walk in to the same restaurant and was offered different menu card (Orange color). 3rd time, i confronted the restaurant manager and he clearly told that they have different menu card. He told me that it is their choice and also gave a logic that there prices on zomato/Swiggy is around 40% more than walk-in/eat-in prices.
So the point i am trying to make is that discounts through eazydiner, dineout etc is just an eyewash and unfortunately, my net bill for same order in case of eazydiner was more after discount then the bill presented at the time of walk-in without booking.
good restaurants usually do not offer discounts.Haven't seen it here in Delhi but maybe it's an upcoming trend, let's see.
It's basically our fault as consumers as well, we keep looking for good discounts so even if a restaurant wants to be practical and give like 15% we won't go there and be like other place has 30. Sooo it is what it is
