Want to add it to my collection yes offers are pretty rare.By having their bank accounts from long time. They are only offered as preapproved AFAIK. I got Spark 5 after holding the account for almost 7 years. Not sure of the exact number of years/months required to be eligible though.
But why the sudden interest? Are there any exclusive offers running on this card? I'm struggling to find any use for this one.
Nice, even I got it for the same reason. Plus it's somewhat exclusive(not in terms of rewards unfortunately)Want to add it to my collection yes offers are pretty rare.
Rewards are useless similar to LTF card. So I was hoping to get it LTF but not sure how. BOB cards show LTF only while applying.Nice, even I got it for the same reason. Plus it's somewhat exclusive(not in terms of rewards unfortunately)
Yes, I have gone thru DBS cards. For Spark 5 fee waiver spend 1.5L is insane 😒😱 For Bajaj its 50k but I want LTF. I have heard DBS account holders getting Spark 5. But not from non account holders. Maybe during festival season they might offer on third party apps.@CreditCardFino DBS offers two types of core cards - Spark and Vantage.
Spark has three variants - Spark 5, 10, and 20.
Vantage also has three variants, although it is not heavily advertised.
Vantage is not available as a lifetime free (LTF) card and is available for Treasures account holders as Paid.
On the other hand, Spark can be LTF for specific cases, such as savings account holders or salary account holders.
I have seen they usually offer Spark5 or 10 as LTF. However, it is more difficult to get Spark 20 (even as a paid card).

I don't think it has anything to do with the duration of relationship with the bank, but rather depends on when the credit card team decides to roll out the cards. I opened a treasures account less than a year ago. From day one I was asking my RM about Vantage, but she said that they are not issuing even Spark currently to anyone. I kept check my eligibility on the portal about once a month. All of a sudden since last month it showed me eligible for Spark 5 LTF and Spark 10 & Spark 15 paid. Still not eligible for Vantage though. I asked my RM if I take and use the Spark card, will it improve my chances of getting the Vantage, but she said it's nothing like that. So I haven't taken the Spark yet. It's not really that lucrative compared to other cards in the market.By having their bank accounts from long time. They are only offered as preapproved AFAIK. No from when?I think Bajaj has stopped issuing CCs.
30L TVR in 6M? Its not worth it.I don't think it has anything to do with the duration of relationship with the bank, but rather depends on when the credit card team decides to roll out the cards. It's their HNI banking program. A few perks like lounge access, airport pickup as given here: https://www.dbs.com/in/treasures/deposits/your-accounts/signature-experienceWhat is treasures account and its benefits?
That's right, not worth maintaining the TRV just for the perks.30L TVR in 6M? Its not worth it.
Even if you buy those freebies it will cost you less compared to 30L in savings. I have LTF CC with zero mark up. IDFC LTF savings has no fee on ATM International. Travel insurance no big deal. That's right, not worth maintaining the TRV just for the perks.
So you don't have balance in savings account only loan principal is counted as TVR? how much does DBS charge for home loan interest 8.5%?It's their HNI banking program. The only reason I have it is because my home loan is with DBS and 40% of the principal is counted in TRV, hence I have the silver tier.
It's 8.35%So you don't have balance in savings account only loan principal is counted as TVR? how much does DBS charge for home loan interest 8.5%?
So you are maintaining 30L in savings then? It's 8.35%
I'm maintaining my savings account balance such that the total TRV is just above the threshold for Treasures Silver.
Most other banks' HNI program have an "or" criteria, like X amount in savings OR Y amount of Home Loan. But I found that DBS considers a sum of it in total TRV, so that's a good point.
Thanks for the detailed information. It's 8.35%

No no. That's what I've been saying: 40% of Home Loan is counted in TRV. I just keep about 2L in savings. So you are maintaining 30L in savings then?
Then after few years your principal will start reducing maybe after 10 yrs as you pay EMI what will you do then? There is a 1500 fee if you don't maintain TVR.No no. That's what I've been saying: 40% of Home Loan is counted in TRV. I just keep about 2L in savings.
